A Study on Awareness About
Plastic Waste Management Act,
2016 in Recycling of Flex Banner
to Create Eco-Friendly Products.
Need of Research
Awareness of
recycling is low,
making it important to
explore eco-friendly
solutions.
Growing Importance &
Present Scenario
Recycling flex
banners can
reduce waste
and support
sustainability.
Introduction
Background
Flex banners are
widely used but are
non-biodegradable,
adding to plastic
waste.
Research Objectives
1.To assess the impact of recycled flex banners on
environmental sustainability.
2.To check the feasibility of producing commercially viable
products from flex banners.
3. To understand if Customers are willing to buy products made
from recycled flex banners.
4. To find out whether Local printers know about the
rules for managing plastic waste.
6. To evaluate the effectiveness of existing
practices for flex banners
5. To find out whether Ad Agency know about the rules
for managing plastic waste.

collected through a well structured
questionnaire and Secondary data was
collected from online research papers and
various sites.

Limitations of Research
1.The study is limited to only one city.
2.Consumer preferences change, so survey responses may not
reflect future behavior.
3.Printers and ad agencies may hesitate to share waste management
details.
4.The small sample size may not fully capture diverse opinions
and practices.
5. Customers may show interest in eco-friendly products but not
follow through with purchases.
6.Limited time and resources restrict in-depth follow-ups and
long-term analysis.
Many Prospective customers are ready to buy the eco-friendly products but may not buy them if
they are expensive or lack durability.
Most people are somewhat aware of the Plastic Waste Management Act, 2016, including local printers
and ad agencies.
Printers and ad agencies play a key role in flex banner disposal but lack proper recycling knowledge.
There are less need based recycling methods for flex banners, making it hard to ensure quality and
consistency.
Rules on plastic waste management are not strictly enforced, leading to improper disposal of
banners.
Some printers and agencies are open to recycling but need better guidance and support
Findings
Outcomes
Recycled flex banners can
be turned into useful
products, but cost and
scalability remain
challenges.
Many customers are
willing to support
businesses using recycled
materials, showing market
potential.
Government incentives
and stricter regulations
can encourage better
recycling practices.
Hypothesis of Research
Consumers’ awareness of
the PWM Act has a minimal
positive relationship with
their willingness to
participate in recycling
initiatives.
The Value of rs is:0.1668
Future Scope Benefits to Society
Helps reduce plastic waste and supports
global sustainability goals.
Cuts greenhouse gas emissions by promoting
recycling over new plastic production.
Encourages people to choose sustainable
alternatives to single-use plastics.
Inspires businesses and individuals to adopt
eco-friendly waste management practices
This study can facilitate collaborations with
businesses and government to implement effective
recycling systems for flex banners.
The research suggests expanding recycling
infrastructure through dedicated flex banner
recycling units.
The findings may contribute to policy
advocacy/ Legistrative support / policy
promotion for stronger recycling rules and
community-based initiatives.
