EPICS Ulahingan ( Livuw Epic) Agyu and his relatives are the characters in Ulahingan . A conflict develops between them and their rulers because of a forced tribute and the killing of the ruler. They flee and was guided by a diwata who promised them with immortality. They leave Mungan , the wife of Banlak who is the brother of Agyu , because she has leprosy. Mungan , however, is the first among them to become immortal. It is she who told Agyu to go to Aruman to await a magical flying boat that will take them to paradise. Members

When the appointed day comes, they ascend to heaven. A diwata showers them with the oil of immortality and gives them the betel nut of immortality to chew. The diwata tells them that the Midlimbag , the Highest God, sends them to live in Nalandangan , an earthly paradise, and not in heaven. That is their reward for enduring and having confidence in Midlimbag . However, Baybayan , Agyu’s son, does not join them in Nalandangan . He is tasked to go around the world seven times to gather converts before he can enter paradise. In his wanderings, Baybayan encounters many adventures, converting many people, including Chinese and Muslims. Members

He and his followers would stop journeying every seven days. His followers run out of food and drink and they stop by a tree laden with fruit. Baybayan performs the first ulahing , and the fruit falls from the tree and turns into linepet , leaf wrappings of rice. Baybayan and his followers feast on the food, which do not run out. After more wanderings, they are finally lifted to heaven in the salimbar , the magical flying boat, where the highest katuklusan , a divinity, makes them immortal. Midlimbag gives them powers of a different nature than those he has given Agyu , and provides them with another paradise to stay in. He exhorts Baybayan to inspire mortals to perform the ulahing so that they may not forget Agyu . Members

Settings Magindanao : It Is where the four monsters attack. Kingdom of Mantapuli : It is the kingdom ruled by Indarapatra Plot Exposition A long time ago, in the island of Mindanao, only mountains are visible and you can’t see any plain. Everyone that were living there were happy because they are rich in natural resources.
Rising Action Four monsters harassed their peaceful home. The first one is Kurita, a terrible creature with many limbs. The second one is Tarabusaw , an ugly creature in the form of a man, the third one is Pah, an enormous bid that was so large. Lastly, the seven-headed bird, a dreadful bird, having seven heads and has the power to see in all directions at the same time. This incident made the people in Mindanao miserable
Climax Indaraptra commanded his brother, Sulayman , to save those people who are in need. Sulayman immediately obey his bother and went to Mindanao. He fought against the four monsters. Even though it is very tough, he did his best to win against each monster. Winning in each battle made him strong even more. Unfortunately, Sulayman died because when he strucked the last monster, it fell dead at his feet, but its wing fell on him that made him crushed. Indarapatra received the news when he saw the little tree wither and dry up that symbolizes the fate of Sulayman .
Insert Your Title Here Falling Action Indarapatra went to his brother and get the wing of the bird. Upon looking up, he beheld a small jar of water by his side. This, he knew had been sent from the heaven, and he poured the water over the bones, and Sulayman , came to life again. He ordered Sulayman to go home, and he was the one that continued the fight against the seven-headed bird. He succeeded and began searching some people that are still alive.

The Legend of Mount Cotabato The legend of Cotabato is about Mt. Timako . In the early days of the Spanish expeditions in Mindanao, Bantugan asked his son, Balatama , to go and ask for the hand of the sultan’s daughter for his father to marry. Balatama did and soon Bantugan and the princess Bai Sethi Meriam were married. They have a child named Fatima who was very pretty but was a restless child. She could run at the age of eight months, speak at the age of ten months, and catch dragonflies and pick flowers at the age of one. She would run in and out of the gardens, meadows and forests, and climb mountains. Legend
“My Fatima” or “ Tima ko pedoli den!” means “My Fatima, come home!” The longest and the loudest call was when Fatima climbed the hill nearby and watched the battle between the marines and the Spanish General and the sea wariors of Bantugan , Fatima’s father. That was many years ago and the people in that mountain never forget the call of Fatima’s mother. “ Tima ko, Tima ko!” At present, the mountain is called Timako . It stands at the mouth of the Rio Grande River and guards the entrance of Cotabato City.
