WHAT IS MANAGEMENT? 'Manage' comes from the Italian maneggiare (to handle, especially tools), which derives from the two Latin words manus (hand) and agere (to act).

Levels of management Most organizations have three management levels: Top-level Middle-level Low-level These managers are classified in a hierarchy of authority, and perform different tasks. The number of managers in every level resembles a pyramid.

Different levels of management will participate in different components of this design process. Upper management creating the initial organizational architecture and structure.
