REPORTED SPEECH
What is it ? How do you use it?
It is the grammar we use if we want to tell another person about
a conversation that took place in the past (e.g telephone call,
news or story that someone told us etc.)
Where’s
Tom?
He said he
was feeling
ill.

My favourite film is on TV
tonight. I love comedies.
Mrs Brown said that herfavourite film was
on TV that night. She said that she loved
comedies.

preferably use the past tense.

4)You need to change heading because there is a lightning storm south of the field.
5)There is something on the runway. We can’t take off.
6)We can’t continue taxiing because there is a piece of rubber on the taxiway.
7)Your destination airport’s been closed because of flooding. What are your intentions?
8)Many of the passengers now boarding are drunk. We need to remove them before we proceed.
9)We have an indication on board that our gear is not retracting. Request a low pass.
10)The passenger’s refusing to speak to the flight attendant. We’re watching him closely.
