RESPONSIBLE PARENTHOOD STRATEGIES ON NURTURING FAMILY VALUES OF 12 HUMSS 4 Balbastro , Brozo , Hembrador , Manansala, Morilla , and Telen

CHAPTER I THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Background of the Study Examining how changing family dynamics affect the development of family values in children is a key component of responsible parenting strategies. That’s why good parenting is a must, it promotes intellectual curiosity, and motivation, and encourages a desire to achieve . In society, family is highly valued, and practices such as respect from elders have a significant impact within the family. In accordance with Dunfey (2023), social change is defined as changes in human interactions and relationships that transform cultural and social institutions. These changes occur over time and often have profound and long-term consequences for society.

Background of the Study   According to Gozum (2020), the different effects which modernization has engendered shaped the minds of different individuals. Due to these effects, society has been affected, involving the family, which is the basic unit of society. Some of the effects of modernization on the family are the increasing number of cases of broken families, cases of divorce, annulment, and the improper formation of children. With this, it is evident that the idea of restoring family values often stems from a desire to strengthen familial bonds, instill positive social behaviors, and create a supportive environment for individuals. These shared ideals shape a family’s morals, priorities, structures, and traditions. Many parents instill good family values in their children to help them develop into kind, responsible citizens. However, it's important to recognize that the concept of "family values" can vary widely across cultures and individuals, so efforts to restore them should be inclusive and adaptable to diverse perspectives and circumstances.

Conceptual Framework INPUT (a) Responsible Parenthood Strategies; and (b) Family values of 12 HUMSS 4 Students. This study will delve into the idea of how parenting strategies affect the family values attributed to the said students. PROCESS (a) Quantitative research approach; (b) Descriptive analysis; and ( c) Convenience sampling techniques.   This study will make use of statistical treatments like survey questionnaires as a research instrument upon gathering data. OUTPUT (a) Awareness attainment; ( b) Knowledge about building family values; and ( c) Values Formation Workshop Seminar about Responsible Parenthood Strategies

FEEDBACK This study aims to seek the significance of responsible parenthood on nurturing family values. Enabling the purpose of this research study to impart an intact result allowing the beneficiaries to understand within the range of its scope.

Statement of the Problem Through the use of a quantitative research approach, this study seeks to determine the impact of different responsible parenting strategies on the development of positive values within the family unit and the effectiveness of these strategies in fostering and nurturing family values in children. This research study seeks to answer the following questions:

Statement of the Problem 1 . What are the level of awareness of the respondents on responsible parenthood? 2 . What are the family values as perceived by the respondents? 3 . What are the ways on building family values as perceived by the respondents? 4 . What are the importance of responsible parenthood on building family values as perceived by the respondents ? 5 . What are the proposed strategies in building family values?

Scope and Delimitations of the Study This study will adhere to a quantitative research design, specifically descriptive research design. Employing descriptive research design, data will be collected using survey questionnaires. The variables included in the study are 12 HUMSS 4 students, parents, family values, and responsible parenthood strategies. The locale of this study is limited to the parents of the said students from Mataas na Paaralang Neptali A. Gonzales. The researchers will make use of convenience sampling technique since the researchers are students of Mataas na Paaralang Neptali A. Gonzales and is part of 12 HUMSS 4, the parents of the students from the said section of the school will be the population. The researchers will narrow down the target respondents to gain the data needed in this research study by simply choosing who to ask information from, in order to gather responds being collected.

Significance of the Study This study targets to dispense valuable information specifying gathered data and facts installed in the reader's viewpoint. It aims to deliberate on how responsible parenthood strategies have embedded family values to nurture as we evolve amidst the modernity of the society.

Findings of the study may be deemed significant to the following: Parents can gain from studying responsible parenting techniques for upholding social ideals since it offers them useful advice and insights on how to help their kids behave well, show empathy, and take on social duty. With this information, parents may support their child's overall growth and improve the parents’ capacity to deal with social issues and build deep relationships. In the end, it gives parents the ability to actively participate in raising compassionate and socially conscious children.

CHAPTER III RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research Design The researchers used a quantitative methodology to create this study. In an effort to support and fulfill the study's aims, the researchers made an effort to find solutions to the previously described issue. Similarly, it also made an effort to determine how responsible parenting techniques affected raising children's family values.     To be more precise, the researchers created this study using descriptive approaches. The impact of responsible parenting techniques on fostering family values in children is described, summarized, and understood through the systematic collection and analysis of numerical data using a quantitative descriptive study approach. By explaining and quantifying the effects of various parenting techniques on fostering family values, this strategy makes statistical comparisons and generalizations possible.

Population Frame and Sampling Scheme The study targets the parents of Grade 12 HUMSS 4 students at Mataas na Paaralang Neptali A. Gonzales. Respondents will be selected based on convenience sampling technique, since the researchers are students of 12 HUMSS 4, the researchers will be utilizing the section.   The total number of students in Grade 12 HUMSS 4 are 48. In this study, the researchers will only target 42 samples from the 48 population. Excluding the parents of the researchers to avoid any bias and subjectivity.

Description of Respondents The respondents of this study consist of parents from the section of 12 HUMSS-4 of Mataas na Paaralang Neptali A. Gonzales. The respondents will be selected using convenience sampling technique. A sample size of 42 will be chosen from the population. The study will only consider parents within the scope of Grade 12 HUMSS 4 and of Mataas na Paaralang Neptali A. Gonzales, which may limit the generalizability of the results. This study will obtain informed consent to address ethical concerns.

Research Instruments Used In this study, the researchers will be using a questionnaire as a primary channel to gather facts and reliable information from the respondents. This questionnaire is a set of orderly arranged questions corresponding to the target constituents. The first part of this questionnaire will cover the knowledge proficiency of the respondents toward responsible parenting. The second part of the questions will cover the techniques used to gratify the effectiveness of instilling family values. The third part will cover the modification of parenting strategies applied to their children. The researchers used the Likert Scale Method in the survey questionnaire to specify the levels of agreement of the respondents to the questions.

Statistical Treatment of Data The researchers will interpret the gathered data from the survey questionnaire using the following statistical treatment. 1. Mean - the mean will measure the average scores that the respondents used to rate each question. 2. Variance and Standard Deviation - to determine how spread out the responses of the respondents are, the researchers will use the variance and standard deviation . 3 . Percentage - used in statistical findings and data analysis, and in order to determine how many of the respondents answered in a specific scale.

Data Gathering Procedure   The researchers will prepare a consent letter that seeks to ask permission to the respondents. The researchers will handout the prepared survey questionnaire and the surveys will be distributed to each of the students from the sample. After that, the survey will then be handed-out to the students’ parents. Then, the researchers will gather the results of the survey to construct its validity and to interpret the results using the statistical tool that consist of mean, percentage, sample variance, and sample standard deviation.
