REVERBERATION- When a steady sound is generated in a room, the sound pressure gradually builds up and it takes some time for it to reach its steady-state value. When the source of sound has stopped, a noticeable time will elapse before the sound dies away to inaudibility. This prolongation of sound as a result of successive reflections in an enclosed space after the source of sound is turned off is called reverberation. Reverberation modifies the perception of transient sounds , sound which start or stop suddenly. It enhances the intelligibility of speech and enjoyment of music.
