Rihanna Biography By Amy Forsyth

Rihanna was born February 20 th 1988 making her currently 29 years old, she was born in Saint Michael’s in Barbados. She was raised in Saint Michael by her Barbadian father and Guyanese mother, her real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty. In her Combermere high school she would win both talent and beauty contests. Rihanna’s friend introduced her to a American music producer, Evan Rogers and his Barbadian wife Jackie Rogers, Evan has worked with people like Christina Aguilera and NSYNC. Evan Rogers worked with his partner Carl Sturken to help Rihanna produce a demo album which had her first single Pon De Replay on it, from there she moved to New York City hoping she could become closer to her dream. Music producer and artist Jay z heard Rihanna's album he conv- inced her to sign with his label Def Jam records, the six album deal lead to the release of her first album called ‘Music of the sun’ in August 2005 her next album was released April 2006. Rihanna’s third album was the one that made her the most worldwide it was called ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ which had the famous hit ‘umbrella’ on it, that album had nine of Rihanna’s most famous hits on it which all ended up within the Top 40.
