2. Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines, great propagandist, novelist, was also known to be very good in courting men, he met quite a lot of women in his years. Known to be a smooth talker, Rizal charmed these women with his intelligence, charisma and wit. Some label him a womanizer, in my opinion though, he had respect with all the women that he had relationships with and he never had a relationship with two women at the same time

3. According to some historians there were nine (9) women who were known to have a love affair with our national hero but there are other historians and sources claimed that Rizal have more than 9 women. Here are the list of Rizal’s love romances…..

Rizal’s first love a pretty 14-year-old Bataguena from Lipa Rizal met her during his visit to his maternal grandmother house Rizal became interested in her and got to know her more intimately during his weekly visit to La Concordia College, where his sister Olympia was a boarding student. 5. JACINTA IBARDO LAZA AKA “MISS L” From Pakil , Laguna Rizal have Jacinta his full love and attention for the reason to forget all the heartaches that Segunda brought him Rizal described her as “fair with seductive and attractive eyes”

CONSUELO ORTIGA y Perez daughter of Don Pablo Ortiga y Rey, Mayor of Manila Rizal showed affection to her but was not quite serious as he was still engaged back then, considered a classic rebound fling Rizal composed a lovely poem on August 22,1883 dedicated to her. 9. GERTRUDE BECKETT “ Gettie ”, a blue-eyed and buxom girl Daughter of Charles Beckett, who was Rizal landlord when he stayed in London, England in May 1888. Gettie was apparently keen on Rizal, helping him with his artwork. He helped Rizal to finish his works, namely: “Prometheus Bound”; “The Triumph of Death Over Life”; and The Triumph of Science over Death”; Annotation of Sucesos de Las Islas Filipinas

10. O-Sei-San/Seiko Usui “Daughter of Samurai” Worked at the Spanish Legation in Tokyo She was 23 y.o . when she met the 27 y.o . Rizal She spoke both English and French. She taught Rizal Japanese Dates were spent exploring park, shrines, and museums such as the Imperial Art Gallery It lasts their affair for 2 months

11. Suzanne Jacoby A Belgian woman Rizal met Suzanne during his stay in Belgium, he stayed the boarding house of the 2 Jacoby sisters. Their relationship may be a fling as Rizal did not mention her to his friends Rizal left the country leaving Suzanne heartbroken, and later returned, not for Suzanne but to continue writing the El Filibusterismo

12. Nellie Boustead Rizal met Nellie during his stay in Paris Daughter of British businessman Eduardo Boustead and was half Filipina They were involved in a love triangle with Antonio Luna

13. Josephine Bracken Born in Hongkong on October 3,1876 Her parents were Irish but was adopted by George Taufer Rizal met her back in Dapitan during his exile Rizal’s fiancé “slender, with chestnut blonde hair, with blue eyes, dressed with elegant simplicity, with an atmosphere of light gaiety”
