THE POTTER Robert Edgar Burns When we are the weakest, We are like large lumps of clay, That the potter must tread down, To make his great art for display . Explanation : The clay is the weakest. It was trodden by foot of the Potter to reduce it to a paste. It was then placed on a horizontal wheel, turning the wheel with his hand as he shaped the vessel. The Potter is molding the clay into any shape as he desired.
