2. RESPONSIBILITIES / ROLE of HEALTH WORKER Every health worker must know Essential task and Skill for Primary health care. 1. MAP of Village ( Area) Shows physical environment , house hold distribution , civic facilities and location of health events. 2. Household Survey Assessment of size of target group s – children , Eligible couple largest group 125-49 yrs. Frequency events – like ANC, Labor < PNC 3. Diaries Daily activities or any special problem, Performance monitoring etc., high risks. 4 Reporting Mortality & Morbidity Sign symptoms of death , accident or any cause. Specially Mother & child 5. Tally sheets Record s MIS for monthly comparison etc.

3. 6. Time Charts & Graphs To give any warning Disease issue 7. Record Birth & Death to have proper vital statistics & comparison eg sex ratio, 8 Pictorial Charts for Health educations 9. Health Cards A, Family folders B, Child health cards ( Road to health ) C Antenatal cards d. High risk flagged cards 10. Check lists for screening and identifying high risk Helps for proper referrals 11 Community surveys Time to time having sample surveys. So that planning can be done

4. 1 Investigation of infectious disease and to take preventive & cotrol measures Such as;- Combing the surrounding to find out any other case. Disinfection Collection of sample of water , food etc. Arrangements to carry out inoculation. Educative propaganda steps for rectification of sanitary defects 2 Investigate cases of food poisoning and taking preventive measures 3 Inspect the places of dead in regards to;- .water supply. Provision of pyres Cleanliness and structural maintenance. Stock of firewood Attendance of staff. Maintenance of registers at cementery 4 . Make enquires about death , certificate of cause of death by MO. Duties of Sanitary Inspectors

5. 5 5. Make enquiry of un registered Birth. 6. Inspect Nursing Homes for registrations etc 7. Cheek the dispensaries in respect of Attendance of Staff. Cleanliness ,defects. Provision of amenities etc. 8. Check the working of Mobile dispensaries. 9. Supervise the work of destruction of food kept expose to flies and dust. 10. Report to sister departments for action if any;- Dumps of refuse Sanitary defects of premises Unauthorized constructions work Encroachments of hawkers selling food articles etc. 11. Make enquiry about maintenance of pauper lunatic cases as per 62Eof MCD Act and to attend the court. 12. Inspect food establishments U/S 394 and 412 A Municipal act .

6. 13. See that trade licensable under Prevention of food adulteration rules. 14. Attend the work and maintain the register of licenses granted 15. Check the register of staff. 16. Dispose the complaints papers etc. 17. Inspect cinema houses , drama theaters and other place of public amusement and ensure these are working as per laws of Municipal acts 18 Maintain field book of work done in the field . 19 Perform such other duties as may be directed by the superior officers from time to time
