4. REMOTE SENSING It refers to any method which can be used to gather information about an object without coming in contact with it. Gravity, magnetic, electromagnetic forces could be used for remote sensing. Now remote sensing is used to denote identification of earth features by detecting the characteristic electro magnetic radiation.
