1. 2024 Ryan’s 1 st Beehive My Backyard Honeybees

2. Step 1 My Dad, Papa, and I picked a place in the backyard. We built a base for the beehive to sit on. 2

3. I dug the holes for the base t hat the hive will sit on. 3 Papa cut the wood.

4. Step 2 We built a beehive on the base. My honeybees live inside. 4

5. Step 3 We bought honeybees to put in the hive. The honeybees are in this box. I am wearing a special bee suit. 5

6. Step 4 I put the honeybees into their new hive… there are over 10,000 of them! 6

7. Honeybees live on frames inside the hive. The queen bee lays eggs and baby bees are born. They store pollen, nectar, and honey here. 7

8. The bees are very busy! 8 I can see them from my house.

9. I saw a bee bringing pollen back to the hive. 9

10. 10 Honeybees are nice and will leave you alone if you don’t make them angry.
