The Philippines saw an increase in its
employment rate in July 2024, reaching 95.3%,
up from 95.1% in July 2023. However, while the
total number of employed individuals rose to
47.70 million in July 2024, it was lower than the
48.36 million recorded in April 2024.

Reasons for the Rise:

- Economic Recovery: The
Philippine economy might have been
experiencing a period of growth,
- Seasonal Factors: Certain
industries might experience seasonal
hiring surges.
- Government Initiatives: The
Philippine government might have
implemented programs aimed at
boosting employment,
Reasons for the Lower Rate Compared to April:

- Seasonal Slowdown: Some industries might
experience a natural slowdown in activity after a
peak period.
- Shifting Demand: Consumer demand might have
shifted towards certain sectors, leading to job losses
in others.
- Economic Uncertainty: Global economic events or
political instability could create uncertainty and
hesitation among businesses, leading to a slowdown
in hiring.
