OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to. Types of business according to activities (ABM_FAB11-IIIb13) Identify the tree types of business. Demonstrate understanding by role playing the different type of business. Appreciate the value of business sector in the economy.

TYPES OF BUSINESS ACCORDING TO ACTIVITIES

Before we formally start with the discussion, let’s have first this video presentation. Guide questions: What is BUSINESS? What are the THREE MAJOR TYPES OF BUSINESS? What are examples of these three major types of business?

Types of Business According to Activities ● SERVICE CONCERN  This type of business offers professional skills, advice and consultations.  Provides intangible products (products with no physical form). Examples: barber shops and beauty parlors, repair shops, banks, accounting and law firms, dry cleaning establishments, schools

Who can give examples of this type of business that can be found in your locality? As a student, can you engage in this type of business now? How?

Types of Business According to Activities ● MERCHANDISING Ø It is a type of business that purchases finished products and resells them to consumers. Ø This type of business is also known as "buy and sell". Examples: book stores, sari-sari stores, hardware stores, department stores

Types of Business According to Activities ● MANUFACTURING Ø It is a type of business that buys raw materials, convert them into products, and then sell the products to other companies or to the final consumers. Thus, there is a transformation of the products purchased. Examples: shoe manufacturing businesses, car manufacturing plants, auto manufacturers, and clothing manufacturers.

ADDITIONAL INPUTS AND INFORMATION ● HYBRID  It is a type of business that may be classified in more than one type of business. Examples: restaurants, bakery

● Agricultural Business  Agricultural business, also known as agribusiness, is the farming, management, production, and marketing of agricultural commodities, such as livestock and crops. Examples: Farming, poultry, crop production

ACTIVITY: PICTURE ANAYLYSIS The teacher will show a picture and the students will identify which type of business best describe it. Mechanics They will be writing their answer on the strip of paper to be provided by the teacher. The group with the highest accumulated score will be declared the winner.

Activity: LET’S GET REAL! The class will be divided into three. In dividing the class, the teacher will require students to count 1,2, 3 and group themselves according to their number. The teacher will give each group 5 minutes to prepare and practice based in their assigned types of business. The teacher will give students 5 minutes for presentation. The teacher will rate each group in their performance based on the following rubrics:

Think of companies or stores who do service, merchandising, manufacturing, hybrid, and agricultural type of business. Give at least 2 companies or stores of each type of business. Write it on a ½ crosswise. Pass it next meeting. ASSIGNMENT
