Save Electricity Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of saving electricity is no simple task; it demands a delicate
balance of technical knowledge, environmental consciousness, and effective communication
skills. Firstly, one must delve into the intricacies of electricity consumption, exploring the various
appliances and systems that contribute to energy usage. This requires a thorough understanding
of electrical principles, power consumption rates, and the impact of different devices on the
overall grid.
The complexity of the topic is further heightened by the need to convey the urgency of energy
conservation. Addressing the environmental consequences of excessive electricity consumption
involves navigating the realms of climate change, resource depletion, and sustainable living.
Effectively communicating these issues requires a careful selection of language and a nuanced
understanding of the audience's perspectives and concerns.
Moreover, an essay on saving electricity should not only highlight the problems but also propose
viable solutions. This demands research into innovative technologies, energy-efficient practices,
and government policies promoting sustainable energy usage. Synthesizing this information and
presenting it in a coherent and persuasive manner poses a significant challenge.
In addition, striking the right balance between technical detail and accessibility is crucial. The
essay should engage both experts in the field and lay readers, conveying the importance of
electricity conservation without overwhelming or patronizing either group. Achieving this
delicate equilibrium necessitates a nuanced approach to language, ensuring that the content
remains informative and interesting to a diverse audience.
In conclusion, writing an essay on saving electricity requires a multifaceted skill set. It demands
technical knowledge, environmental awareness, effective communication skills, and a talent for
synthesizing information. Successfully navigating these challenges is key to producing a
compelling and impactful piece on the importance of electricity conservation.

Evenflo Baby Bottle
I have created a product and tried to market this product to many distrusters, and
the name of the company I have choose to distribute my product too was Evenflo
and Avent. The product that I created was a baby bottle, but it not just any baby
bottle this bottle has an attachment at the bottom to keep the lid in place. During,
my first years as a mother I would wash my baby s bottle and always seemed to lose
the tops of my baby s bottle, well what if, as I thought, if the top can click to the
bottom of the bottle while holding the baby. So, one day I created this bottle and it
looked great, I schedule some appointments with some investors, but it never
seemed to work. I went to meeting and no one never gave me the time. So, I went
to Invent Teck and they created a profiled book for me and in this book, it has my
picture, the information for my bottle and the numbers of how much a bottle will
cost. This has been a dream for me for many years, and if I had the moneyto launch
this product this would be my reality.
First, the product I have is called the Bottle Snapper and ... Show more content on

thought that with a great idea, the money will come. I guess I was wrong, because

Batman And Superman Similarities
To people that have comic book illiteracy, Batman and Superman would seem like
they would be pretty similar to each other, which is true but only to a degree. They
have similar names, outfits, and both live two different lives, etc. On the other hand,
when it comes down to what makes these two men special, they are polar opposites.
They have differences in backgrounds, powers, motivations, and in what makes them
popular among fans. Despite their similarities in outward appearances, Batmanand
Supermanare exceedingly distinct from one another. Batman and Superman are
poles apart, but, when it comes to certain aspects of their lives, they can be found to
be similar. Both Batman and Superman are extremely popular comic book
superheroes who have had multiple television shows and movies made about them.
Batman and Superman show up at similar times in the comic book world and are
published in the same comic book brand: DC Comics. Moreover, they both have
superherocostumes and despite the color themes, the costumes follow the pattern of
having their logo on their chest followed with a cape in the back. They are also alike
in terms of their secret identities. Batman is actually Bruce Wayne and Superman is
actually Clark Kent and they both live normal lives when they are not out saving
them. Both of these characters have childhoods where both men did not know their
parents very well because their parents died when they were young, making both of
them orphans. When they start

Determination Of Sowbugs In Multiple Environments
INTRODUCTION
We observed Sowbugs in multiple environments to determine which environment
they preferred. After the observation, we shared, and recorded our results. The
sowbugs spent 77% of their time on the cool, damp soil, as opposed to 23% of their
time on the hot, dry sand. We asked ourselves: why is it that sowbugs preferred the
cool, damp soil? It was hypothesized that the sowbugs preferred the cool, damp soil
to the hot, dry sand, because moisture was the causative agent. If the hypothesis is
correct, then the sowbugs will spend more time in damp soil.

How Art Follow One Of The Five Formal Elements Of Art
All aspects of art follow one of the five formal elements of art. The elements are
line, shape, texture, color, and balance. Some elements are subdued, but some
paintings have elements that are very obvious. With the artists use of these elements
he states what his style is, as well as, the use of medium, and color that directs the
viewer s eye to a specific area of the painting. I will choose paintings to show these
elements, how they are used, and what idea the artist is trying to show, and give my
impressions.
The first element I will address is shape. There are regular shapes that are geometric
and irregular shapes that show motion. I have chosen, for shape, Little Yellow
Horses by Franz Marc, shown on page 829. This painting was completed in 1912.
The medium is oil on canvas in the Expressionism style. It is currently displayed at
Staatsgalerie, Stuttgart, Germany.
Here we have a painting of three yellow horses with exaggerated curvature and is
composed of open circles. The artist saw yellow as a happy color and thought
animals were more beautiful than man. The curves are accentuated by the black
manes of the horses. The two front horses have an added open circle with their
heads being down. The horse in the background has just a slight curve of his back
and the arc of his mane. In this work, at first glance, is a sea of yellow, black and
circles. Upon a closer look, the artist shows the beauty of the horse. The yellow along
with the blue and pink

Lab Report On Vitamin C
Rashedo Fowler CU10166224
Experiment on Vitamin C
Function of vitamin C
The experiment is to examine the amount of Vitamin C present in orange using fresh
fruit and preserved juice. DCPIP colour indicator is used to verify the variations in
the vitamin C. (BBC, 2006).
AIM
The aim of this research project is to determine the level of vitamin C present in
various fruit juices, based on the ways that the fruit has been preserved. This includes
freshly squeezed organic orange juice, innocent organic orange juice, budget from
concentrate orange juice and high budget from concentrate. Results from this
research will then be compared to the guidelines recommended on fruit packages as to
whether the recommended guidelines match the results. Lastly, we will determine the
quality of vitamin c in the different sources and how they vary from high end quality
to budget.
HYPOTHESIS
The level of vitamin C present in freshly squeezed orange juice compared to that of
commercial orange juice.
THEORY AND LITERATURE
Vitamin C also known as L ascorbic acid, is a water soluble vitamin that is naturally
present in some foods, added to others and also available as food supplement.
Humans unlike most animals are not able to synthesize vitamin C endogenously
hence it hence it is essential dietary component. Whatever the human body needs is
provided from the food we digest. When the required amount of

The Effects of Caffeine on Daphnia
This experiment is to see The Affect of Caffeine on Daphnia. Daphnia is also
known as a water flea. It is a distant relative of crabs and shrimps. (Marshall
Cavendish, 2002) Daphnia have a hard external skeleton with jointed appendages
and limbs. The head contains a large central eye which is made of two eyes joined
together. Daphnia has two pairs of antennae which are used for swimming. Each
daphnia has five pairs of limbs. These limbs lie in a certain space under the body
bounded by the carapace. (Marshall Cavendish, 2002) A carapace is a hard upper
shell or chitinous outer covering on the back of some animals. The daphnia is well
preserved because of its shells which are composed of chitin. The usual size of this
microorganism is about 0.2 0.3 mm; they look like flat disks. Their bodies are
divided into three parts head, thorax, and abdomen. The head is typically dome
shaped with five pairs of appendages. Among these five are two pairs of antennae;
there is a small pair and a larger pair. The smaller pair of antennae serves as a
sensory function and the larger one is used for swimming. The other three
appendages purpose is to secure food they intake. (Michael Hutchins, 2003) The
thorax holds four to six pairs of legs that are used for gathering food, filtering water,
or grasping mates. There are over 400 species of daphnia and they are distributed
worldwide. Daphnia uses their thoracic legs to produce a constant current of water;
this allows them to filter food

his speech Martin Luther King Jr., Wyatt Walker and others, helped Martin get in a
state to write his speech. Wyatt Walker actually advised Martin to not use his I

in many other speeches prior to this one, he thought it would be to much. Martin
agreed he knew this speech had to be different. This was the first time he was
going to speak to a whole civil rights group. The event was a big deal because it
was going to be shown on all three television networks live. Kings staff offered
multiple different opinions and suggestions about the speech. Yet, King was still
not sure what he was going to do. He told his staff I am now going upstairs to my
room to counsel with my Lord. (Younge ) King finished the speech, but I Have a

him, Tell em about the dream, Martin. (Younge ) Mahalia was a very close
relationship with King she was the one he would call for some gospel musical

written in the final draft. This shows how passionate King felt towards this
movement, It also shows how his own thinking impacted the people. A couple
weeks after King gave his speech on September 15, 1963 there was a bombing at a

In A Montana Bear Attack Summary
ATTACKED!!! Few people will ever see or come in contact with a grizzly bear.
But Todd Orr, a Montanan from southwest Montana, was one of those few who

Bear Attack, Lessons on Hope, Survival and First Aid, explains what Mr. Orr did
for survival and first aid to get away from the angry grizzly. The New York Times

grizzly attacked him. Three miles away from his truck he knew he had to get out
of the area. After hiking about a half mile, the very same bear attacked him again.
TWICE!!! He played dead and didn t move to make the bear stop and think he was
dead. When he knew it was safe he went back to his truck and did a video of his
bloody face, shoulders, and arms. He then drove sixteen miles to the nearest hospital.

the difference and where they are justified of being appropriate in counseling. To
read that Christian counseling is both professional and personal. In a sense that
we may pray for our clients and the time and energy we would invest into our
clients is on a personal level. On a professional relationship is the time and place
where the session takes place. Prayer during and outside a counseling session as
techniques can be used with only certain clients who are ready for spiritual growth.
Some counselors pray in sessions because prayer will enhance the spiritual lives in
their clients (McMinn, 2011). Clients can gain insight from counseling as they
allow prayer in their personal life. Depending on the client that is seeking help,
counselors need to be caution on the risks that can pose in prayer. I don t understand

Long Term Care Insurance Research Papers
1. Long Term Care Insurance
If your senior loved one has a chronic illness or disability, they may benefit from
investing in long term care insurance. Medicare and employer based insurance plans
typically don t cover in home care. Long term care insurance is purchased separately
and covers in home care from health aides or caregivers. Because insurance
companies typically will withhold payment for a certain time period after the
insurance is purchased for seniors with pre existing conditions, make sure your
loved one has funds in savings or other sources to cover the care before the insurance
begins to pay.

The loan can be paid in one lump sum or with monthly payments. The loan doesn t
have to be repaid as long as your loved one lives in the home. If they die or move,
the loan will have to be repaid via monthly installments.
4. Accelerated Death Benefits
Life insurance policies normally aren t paid out until your loved one passes away.
Accelerated death benefits, however, allow your loved one to receive a portion of
their life insurance policy in advance of their death. They can use this money to pay
for in home care. To determine if they can use this benefit, your loved one should talk
to their life insurance broker.
5. Government and Private Programs
According to the National Council on Aging, there are more than 2,000 programs
from government and private corporations that assist seniors in paying for care.
These range from grants from the Alzheimer s Association to pay for seniors who
need care for Alzheimer s disease to the Harry and Jeanette Wineberg Foundation
that has given out hundreds of grants to pay for senior care. Contact your loved one
s local National Council on Aging office to fill out a benefits questionnaire to

Yankee Stadium Tragedy
The reason for the subsidies of these stadiums over recent years has been the
incredible cost of construction. There are over 100 various sports stadium in the
U.S. with sixty four new major league facilities alone have been built over a 16 year
span beginning in the early 1990 s at a combined costs of over $20 billion
(Sanderson). One high profile example is of the new Yankee Stadiumin New York:
The construction cost is expected to be around $1.3 billion... New York City is
projected to spend $220 million on infrastructure and various other improvements
across the area (Robertson). The extra expenditure is the type of costs that investors

By the time construction of a new stadium commences, construction jobs of all
types have been created, from welders to painters, from foremen to day laborers.
Many of the workers needed for the new construction projects are not local and will
typically move temporarily or permanently into the communities as construction can
take years to complete. The moves can generate an increase in local and state tax
dollars from hotel lodging, home sales and spending on items necessary for daily
living such as clothing, food, gas and entertainment. When searching for funding for
these stadiums and workers to construct the project, many cities opt to subsidize the
cost. Subsidizing is when the city makes use of tax payer funds to help limit the
private cost of the project. However, many economists say that the subsidies are not
beneficial to the average taxpayer. In spite of all of these economic arguments,
economists generally oppose subsidizing professional sports stadiums (Wolla). Many
economists agree that, Providing state and local subsidies to build stadiums for
professional sports teams is likely to cost the relevant taxpayers more than any

A Comparison Of The February And October Revolution
The February and October revolutions that arose in Russia in 1917 reveals how
power can corrupt a fragile system. Prior to these revolutions, Russia was under the
reign of Czar Nicholas II, a leader, who like future leaders betrayed and inflicted
harm to his loyal supporters. Karl Marx first sparked ideas of revolutions and
communism, communism believes in a society where everything is equal and done
according to abilities and needs. The February revolution on February 23 was the
start of corruption in Russia, Supported by huge crowds of striking industrial
workers, the protesters clashed with police but refused to leave the streets
(History.com Staff 2009). The revolution resulted in the ousting of Czar Nicholas, the

The Need for Stimulative Monetary and Fiscal Policies
Part 1: In a situation where the country is in a period of high unemployment,
interest rate sare at almost zero, inflation is about 2% per year, and GDP growth is
less than 2% per year the Federal Reserve System would have to focus on monetary
policy and the government would have to concentrate on fiscal policy. The Fed
would thus need to install a stimulative monetary policy in that would better the
economy s Gross Domestic Product in the future. Monetary policy would,
however, have to be regulated in order to keep inflation in its current position. By
cutting taxes, introducing stimulative fiscal policies, and increasing spending,
economic growth is likely to occur in the short run. As a president, I would
propose a fiscal tax that would encourage the appearance of more jobs by directing
more funds toward fields like production. I would decrease taxes and I would
encourage government expenditure in order for unemployment to reach a level
where it can be controlled. I would be careful about balancing fiscal policies so as
for the economy to benefit as a result of this enterprise. When considering Franklin
D. Roosevelt s strategy of using fiscal policy with the purpose of ameliorating the
effects that the Great Depression had on the American public, it is only safe to say
that creating jobs as a result of implementing government programs on a local level
is likely to reflect positively on the economy. As a president, I would also provide
loans and grants to individuals

Scavenger Hunt Case Study
A scavenger hunt can be a great team building activity, but could also tear a team
apart. Teams should use their strengths and weaknesses to reach the final goal of
finishing in first place. In order to be successful, a group should be aware of the
amount of time they are given to complete the task; doing so will depend on how
well a teamcommunicates and uses their resources. In our case, our success was fully
contributed to our time management, use of technology, leadership, and
communication skills; if given the opportunity to conduct the scavenger hunt again,
there are a few changes we would make. Our team excelled in many different areas
in order to make sure we used our time efficiently. We made sure that we all showed

This would include keeping an upperclassman as a part of our team. We feel that
the upperclassmen was able to guide our team in the right direction as we went

specific buildings were. We would still use technology to ask other students,
through call or text message, for answers because this proved to be beneficial to
our team. Lastly, we would be sure that each member of our team showed up five
minutes early to class. Leaving early allowed us to get a head start on the tasks. We
would urge teams who are completing this scavenger hunt next semester to map out
all of the objectives first, be aware of the time allotted, and make sure everyone s

Waiting For The Barbarians By. Coetzee
The idea of torturing members of the enemy to pry out valuable information to gain
advantage over the enemy during war is an idea used for thousands of years. Some
civilizations went as far as to make an art out of this method by inventing horrific
contraptions and tools to satisfy their inhumane and twisted minds. Regardless of
how inventive the tools used, the main purpose is to inflict tremendous amount of
pain and brutality to break the enemy s will, so the detainee will render valuable
information to stop the suffering. But, how effective is the method of torture? In the
novel Waiting for the Barbarians by J.M. Coetzee, this controversial question is
examined through the war between the Empire and the barbarians. Colonel Joll of...

Because of this philosophy, the first victim suffers a fatal fate in the hands of
Colonel Joll s brutality. Two prisoners, a boy and his uncle, were arrested shortly
after a raid incident had concluded that these two were not part of. According to the
uncle, the boy is sick, and he was taking the boy to find a doctor. Sadly, even the
best doctor cannot help the man as the Magistrate describe the man s body after
Colonel was through with his interrogation, The grey beard is caked with blood.
The lips are crushed and drawn back, the teeth are broken. One eye is rolled back,
the other eye socket is a bloody hole (Coetzee p.7). The uncle dies without giving up
any information about the resistance. Even if he had any information, he would be
filled with tremendous amount of rage to not give out any or too weak from the
torture to make sense of anything anymore.
As for the boy, he too was interrogated by Colonel Joll. He may have escaped death,
but he is just as good as dead with his current condition. As the Magistrate describes
the horrific scene in front of him, His belly and both groins are pocked with little
scabs and bruises and cuts, some marked by trickles of blood (Coetzee p.11). The
Magistrate learns that the boy supposedly said some value information about his
people arming for a war with the Empire during the interrogation, but the boy is too
weak to confirm it with the Magistrate. How valid is the alleged information

The Second Sex By Simone De Beauvoir Summary
The Second Sex was written by Simone de Beauvoir in 1949. Her introduction
Woman as Other opens with her discussing how she is not fond of writing about the
subject of women but she is choosing to because she is defined as a woman and is
tired of hearing about the subject. She later in the essay talks about how she disagrees
with different pieces written about women, which is another reason she could have
decided to write about this subject. At her time of writing this, prominent female
figures were scarce, famous writers were mostly men, and some women even
wrote under the guise of a man so their work would be accepted. Though this piece
was translated from French, the English reader is able to tell that Beauvoir is a very
intelligent and well spoken person; so who better to write a piece about women than
her? Simone de Beauvoirs main argument in this paper is that man and society have
defined women as Other since humans gained a conscience, and this definition has
oppressed and continues to oppress women. She backs this up by offering historical
background from various texts, and although her thoughts may seem disorganized,
she presents this argument with comparisons to other oppressed peoples as well as
examples of how women are treated today. Womanare described in biology as having
female genitalia such as a vagina and a uterus.
Beauvoir states this in her essay and then says [b]ut in speaking of certain women,
connoisseurs declare that they are not

Shoulder Injury Research Paper
One of the most common injuries among athletes is found to be in the shoulder
region, which entails the shoulder joint and the shoulder girdle. The shoulder joint, is
commonly referred to as the glenohumeral joint (ball and socket joint consisting of
the ball/end of the humerus bone that sits in the socket of the shoulder). The overall
shoulder region also entails the shoulder girdle (the scapula/shoulder blade), and
clavicle (collar bone). The shoulder joint is predominantly vulnerable to injury
because the large range of movement that it is capable of and the relatively small joint
surfaces. In turn, this means that the joint itself is much less stable and therefore
requires a number of sturdy muscles, ligaments, and tendons and to maintain the
stability.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sadly, this exact positioning is what sets us up for shoulder impingement, and or a
rotator cuff/labrum tear, down the road. Sadly, most people do not like to put a
pause on their busy daily lives, and in turn many people have a tendency to ignore the
pain and play through shoulder injuries. In turn, this only aggravates the condition
and possibly causes more problems in the long run. People also may underestimate
the extent of the injury because they do not want to appear weak, and interpret it as
steady pain, or weakness in the arm, and cause limitation of joint motion can become

Essay on Sigmund Freud on Human Nature
Sigmund Freud, a noteworthy trailblazer of modern day philosophy, developed a
deterministic view on human nature based on instinct and personality. Unlike other
theories, Freud considers us not as humans, but animals with inborn biological
drives: a complex species with primitive urges. These urges, he says, are only kept
under control by the pressures between peers and the repression of society. Though
the word instinct can relate to a wide range of impulses, Freud narrowed it down to
four main drives: Self preservation, aggression, the need for love, and the impulse to
attain pleasure and avoid pain. These topics along with the model of the psyche

Passions, on the other hand, are a bit more complicated. In simple terms, men are so
entirely governed by instinctual wishes that they often overlook their sense of reason.
This claim is exemplified in the phrase love is blind. When two lovers are so
encompassed by their relationship it is not uncommon for one of the two to make a
few questionable decisions. Arguments of reason then relate to the idea of intellect.
The voice of intellect is soft, but persistent which in turn provides optimism for the
future of mankind. This optimism, however, dwindles in the fact that men have
gained control and power over nature, granting them the ability to exterminate one
another if they chose to. The awareness of this power results in unrest, unhappiness,
and anxiety. Subsequently, this leads to Freud s idea of Defense mechanisms and the
Ego which will be discussed further along in this essay. In general, Freud claims that
civilization has its own influence on human nature, providing guidelines to follow
and morals standards to maintain.
In addition to civilization, Freud expands his view of human nature according to
pleasure. According to the Beyond the Pleasure Principle, hunger and love regulate
the world. Though the original thought was taken from Schiller, Freud applies it to
the core instincts he believes to sum up human nature. Hunger represents the instincts
which aim at preservation of the self while love strives after objects and preservation

Essay on Egyptian Rulers and their Gods
Egyptian Rulers and their Gods The relationship between Egyptian rulers and their
gods were ever present in many examples of Egyptian art throughout the many
changes in leadership. The depictions of these relationships, however, were not
always consistent from ruler to ruler, dynasty to dynasty. The Palette of Narmer,
Seated Statue of Khafre, and Akenaten and Nefertit and their Children are three prime
examples of the differences in depiction from one period to another.
The Palette of Narmer, done around 3000 B.C. in the Predynastic Period, depicts
King Narmer as the most important figure of the work. A system of hierarchical
proportions is important to this piece. Narmer s dominating size and central position
on the front ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The upper body is done in a frontal view while the legs and head are done in profile.
With the Seated Statue of Khafre, we see some continuities from the past but also
some changes. The god Horus is again found in this work in an even more protecting
role, behind Khafre s head. We also find standing lions on either side of Khafre s
throne guarding the ruler. Both these figures, like before for Narmer, are use to
reinforce Khafre s divine right of kingship. The noticeable difference between this
piece and the Palette of Narmer is the way in which the human form is done.
Khafre is much more naturalistic, although not perfectly (Khafre s kilt and hair are
still stylized). Underlying organic structures such as muscle and bone are depicted.
This is in contrast to the stylized form of Narmer. Also, Khafre is shown in perfect
human condition. His body s proportions and muscle definition are very idealized.
His face expresses no emotion. These qualities are characteristic to sculpture in the
Old Kingdom when this piece was done in 2500 B.C.
The small relief, Akhenaten and Nefertiti and their Children, represents
unprecedented changes in the depiction of Egyptian rulers. This piece shows a very
naturalistic view of the human body in that the proportions are not idealized, but it
also parallels previous works with the frontal torso and profiled head and legs.
Depictions of leaders in this way were as unseen before Akhenaten. Although the

Abstract
Air Traffic Control (ATC) in the United States consists of roughly 25,000 air traffic
controllers working in the National Airspace System (2014 controller workforce
plan). These 25,000 controllers consist of both civilian and military personnel. This
essay examines paths to entry into air traffic control, recent trends, costs and
predictions for the future of ATC in the National Airspace System. In 2014 the FAA
underwent the most significant change in hiring procedures since the Air Traffic

FAA Air Traffic Control To be hired as an FAA air traffic controller a potential
candidate must meet the minimum following requirements: be a United States
citizen, start the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City, OK for training no later than
their 31st birthday, hold a class II FAA medical and, pass a background check,
have three years of progressively responsible work experience, or a bachelors
degree, or a combination of post secondary education and work experience that
totals three years, pass the FAA air traffic pre employment tests. ( Aviation careers,
2014). These hiring requirement have recently changed. Prior to January 2014 the
FAA required candidates to either have prior experience in air traffic control, be a
graduate of an AT CTI school or be a small percentage of off the street hires, all of
which would have to pass the AT SAT air traffic control aptitude test. While the AT
SAT is still administered in a different form, potential controllers must first pass the
new biographical questionnaire. This questionnaire claims to select the most
qualified potential controllers based on research from currently successful certified
practicing controllers, or CPCs. Under the current hiring processes from the FAA,
once a candidate passes the biographical questionnaire they are scheduled to take the
AT SAT. If the candidate passes the AT SAT they will then start at the FAA Academy.

Theme Of Appearance Vs Reality In To Kill A Mockingbird
There is always more than what meets the eye; always two sides of the same coin.
As astutely put by Atticus Finch, You never really understand a person until you
consider things from his point of view, [...] until you climb inside of his skin and
walk around in it. In Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird, the theme of hidden
depths and appearance versus reality is pivotal to the development of both the
characters and the plot. The Tom Robinson trial, the events surrounding it, and the
mystery surrounding Boo Radley are prime examples of how appearance may not
always reflect reality, and that one should never base their judgment on another
person based on what they see. Justice is blind , the saying goes. As times go by,
people must not be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of one violent incident in the past, the children see him as a malevolent
phantom , one that terrorizes the city and commits numerous small crimes while
hidden in the darkness of the night. Like Tom Robinson, he too fell victim to
Maycomb s way of passing judgment based on appearance, and was known as a
sociopathic delinquent for most of his time living in the town. Despite remaining
unseen for most of the novel, Boo is shown to have hidden depths; he covers Scout
with a blanket to comfort her after Miss Maudie s house burns down, and risks his
life to save the children during an altercation with Bob Ewell. This is where Scout
finally realizes that Boo was not the malevolent phantom she had thought him to be:
she says, Atticus, he was real nice, to which Atticus replies, Most people are, Scout,
when you finally see them. His underlying friendliness and childlike tendencies are
foreshadowed when he leaves small gifts for the children in the tree hole, and when
Jem returns to the Radley field to find his pants folded and crookedly stitched. It is
through this that the children finally realize what it means to look past appearance
when judging others. The one that had appeared to be deadly and deranged at first
was, in reality, their friend all

Human Genome Project Paper
The Human Genome Project is a very well known scientific research project made to
determine the sequencing of chemical base pairs which make up human DNA. The
Human Genome Project is also made to identify and map all of the human genes
from both physical and functional parts. But how does this really affect us?
The Human Genome Project has aimed to provide us with detailed information about
the Human Genome. This will be extremely effective towards studying people with
specific diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, hypertension and cystic
fibrosis. The DNA sequences of any two people are actually very alike. The little

many scientists who don t believe in the HGP simply because no one knows how a
single gene change can affect humans. Clearly, if used correctly The Human Genome
Project can become a beneficial factor in curing life threatening diseases. The
information from genetic tests, provided by the scientific community, will be shared
with the public and medical communities. By sharing the information, it helps doctors
save lives of patients. However, sometimes scientists still remain unsure on how to
interpret the results of tests. Many agreements were made during the project,
resulting in the publication of scientists findings. By having the information visible to
all, it allows advance understandings and the making of medical advances

Indentured Servitude Research Paper
American Slavery and indentured servitude were important marks that would help
define the growth of America from a British colony to its own nation. It has also been
marked as major human rights violation in history. This document is an excerpt from
historical colonial newspaper,
Pennsylvania Gazette, published in the month of July in the year of 1738. This
excerpt contains a harsh historical viewpoint of the reality at the time for colonial
(British) expansion, with advertisements regarding runaway slaves and servants.

European nations looking to colonize in the Americas and also in other parts around

Appearances disclosed in this type of way could resemble modern sketches of
police wanted lists. However, the way the people were disclosed are comparisons
to more of an object or a rabid animal then a human being. An example being the
description of the appearance of Peter, who was called at first as ...a Negroe Man
named Peter, (VoF 71) was described as being middle Stature, well set, talks

the runaway slaves and servants to objects or animals advances when specific lines
after each final description mentions a type of reward. This section of the
Pennsylvania Gazette was not just an advertisement of runaway slaves and
servants, but also served as a bounty list for the subscribers of this newspaper.
These bounty lines can be seen at the tail end of Peter s and the servants

The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company
The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company
Since 1898, Ritz Carlton relied on the vision of services that are personalized and
would satisfy the most discerning guest. In the beginning, a New York based real

During the last three days of the Seven Day Countdown, employees get technical
training from the department they will be working for. On these days, they learn
the details that are involved in performing their jobs to the standards by the hotel
and everyone is excepted to work under the production processes. The employees
get to take their newly learned skills to the test and get dressed in full uniform to
serve real customers. Members of the committee observe every trial fun, from the
housekeepers to the restaurant and look for any flaws in their services.
For the first month of operating a new hotel, their occupancy is only 50% because it
allows them to reduce the number of tables the waiters have to serve and the number
of rooms the housekeepers must clean. They do this so that the new employees do
their job perfectly and their productivity will increase as they get more and more
comfortable with their job. It also allows them to offset minor turnovers that they
might experience after opening.
The Seven Day Countdown process is said to be the worldwide best practice of the
company but I think that it s to short of a time frame for an employee to learn
everything and master all the aspects of becoming a world renounced Ritz Carlton
employee. The first thing I would change is training with mock customers. During the
last few days of the training, they are trained with real customers. I don t that is safe

Fozen Evil Vs Evil
What is the violation of a moral code, the opposite of good, and the ultimate
definition of everything bad? Evil has several clear cut definitions scattered
throughout dictionaries. In reality, evil is a theme so prevalent in all spheres of life,
it has near limitless forms. The word evil has come to symbolize a divide between
the good samaritan and the callous monster. Evilis used as a blanket statement to
describe anything harmful to life or existence. Poachers destroying the life of
endangered wildlife for profit can be called evil. The callous monster that is driven
by hatred and a thirst for violence is evil. Ideas concerning evil have been strung
along through the schools of theology, the minds of society, and the theories of
philosophy throughout the history of mankind. Evil can come in many different
forms, even in a person you love. The film Frozen has a great example of this kind of
evil. Ana falls for a seemingly nice boy named Hans, Prince Hans. With a marriage
proposal the two are in love, or so Ana thinks. In the end Hans... Show more content

My Senior Year Of High School
Since the beginning of my senior year of high school, I received the amazing
opportunity to belong to a community of interior and event designers at Suzanne
Nichols Design Group. The showroom is located in Orlando, so whenever I visit or
am home for break I continuously work with the company in the community. The
experience helps me to understand the many different genres that are utilized within
the community. They help us to communicate with each other, the clients, and the
business as a whole. We often take on many beautiful designerhomes and design
many special events such as weddings, office banquets, birthday parties, and
anniversary parties. Many of the genres we utilize included meeting agendas,
proposals, floor plans, invoices, sample design boards, and also event promotional
flyers. A collaboration of the different genres come together to make the work
more organized, less stressful and even exciting. Primarily, a meeting agenda is
created so we know what to discuss with our clients, as well as, questions that need
to be asked. It normally consists of bullet points with various topics in chronological
order of the way they should be reviewed and talked about. The meeting agendas are
important to the design process and design community because they help us get a
good understanding of exactly what our client wants and requirements. Normally, our
clients usually range from a family looking to design a newly purchased home, or a

Toronto Maple Leafs Contenders
The Toronto Maple Leafs cup contenders? Impossible, you might say, and that
would have been the case just a mere two seasons ago when they fell off the cliff
and crash landed into the bottom of the Eastern Conference, but the Maple Leafs are
a different team now. They have rebuilt, oted, and redeemed themselves in a city
where winning has become a dot on the horizon. They have accumulated all of the
things that take a team to the playoffs: improved defense, explosive offence, and
unbelievably talented goaltending. With the fresh vision of their head coach, Randy
Carlyle, the Toronto Maple Leafshave become a team with a shot at the playoffs this
season. To begin with, one of the most important reasons why the Leafs have
become a contending team this season is because of their outstanding improvement
on the blue line. Putting the puck in the net has never been an issue nor a
worrisome topic in the city of Toronto. Fans hear the buzzer go off at the ACC
regularly and it has been something we have taken pride in. Nonetheless, when your
defense can not defend, there just is not enough goals to score, which is why the
case has been different this season and in as the talented players on this team have
finally had their time to emerge thanks to the defense doing their jobs. Let s be
honest , one does not simply find themselves in dead last one year, and magically
climb to 5th the next. No, the Buds made some major changes over the years, and
though it took somewhat longer than

I m writing you this letter and I want you to read the entire thing. I figured that I
should write this instead of tell you because I d probably forget things if I was

whenever I try to really express what I m feeling and you don t agree with it, you

makes me feel like I can t say everything that I need to. For one, I am very sorry that
I lied to you about going to Taylor s and told you I was at work. It really really won

was upset and the apology would not have been sincere. I didn t want to just say
sorry to say it, I wanted to mean it and it be genuine. I am also sorry for shutting
you out. I know that it s not fair to you and that you are just trying to make the
most of the time you have with me because I m not going to be living here for a
whole lot longer. I don t know why I thought I had to lie to you that night. There
wasn t anything super important that I just had to go over there. I am so sorry that
I did it. I know that I lost a lot of trust with you by lying and I hope that I can do

Aftereffects Of The Las Vegas Shootings
I will be providing information from three articles. The three articles I have chosen
are about the shooter of the Las Vegas shooting on the country music festival that
happened on the night of October 1, 2017. From what we have been told by the
media, the shooting that happened during the concert was from the Mandalay Bay
Hotel window just across the street from the concert. The aftereffects of the concert
left about 500 people injured and almost 60 people killed, which includes himself.
The shooting has affected everyone in the United Statesbecause almost everyone is
scared that it was a terrorist attack and that there will be more closer to their homes.
Some people think the shooter was working alone and some people, such as the
people that were attending, say that there was more than just the shooter from the
hotel. I will examine and analyze how the three authors have written about the Las
Vegasshooting. I will examine each author s credibility, the evidence that the author
uses, and logical and/or emotional points of the story. My essay will also include
assessments on the potential biases from the the Media BiasFact Check site for the
three article I have found.
In my first article, Police say they are trying to determine whether Las Vegas gunman
acted alone by Matt Pearce, Ruben Vives, and Richard Winton, LA Times, the author
states that the police were trying to determine whether the gunman of the Las Vegas
shooting acted alone. The police had interviewed

Persuasive Essay On Doctor Assisted Suicide
Watching a loved one, a close friend, a stranger suffer from a terminal illness is an
uncomfortable situation for most to watch. Put your feet in their shoes, think what
would you do if you were the one with the terminal illness. If legalized in more
states and countries, would the option of doctor assisted suicide be on your mind? It
would be on mine. Today, individuals with terminal illnesses should have the right to
doctor assisted suicide in all states.
One that is uneducated about doctor assisted suicide, could sway someone to
believe that it should not be legalized. Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands,
Switzerland, and four American states (Oregon, Washington, Vermont, and
Montana), are the jurisdictions that have legalized doctor assisted suicide
(Norman Eady, S., (2002). If one was educated with both point of views, it may be
possible that the outcome would be more in favor of accepting to legalize doctor
assisted suicide. To be able to have the option of assisted suicide, is not like walking
into a Target and buying household supplies and a television. Oregon, just like the
other legalized jurisdictions, has guidelines for an individual to qualify for doctor
assisted suicide. To request lethal medications in Oregon, the Death with Dignity Act,
the patient must be the age of 18 or older, must be an Oregon resident, capable to
make and communicate health care decisions, and diagnosed with a terminal illness
that will lead to death within six months (Norman Eady,

Essay on Statement of Philosophy and Educational Goals
Statement of Philosophy and Educational Goals
In the following report, I will be discussing my personal philosophy on education and
my educational goals. My philosophy will include some of my personal opinions on
the nature of students, the nature of knowledge, the purpose of public education,
teaching methods and the importance of curriculum. My educational goals will focus
on my development plans and future education.
I feel that it is natural for students, or for that matter anyone, to want to learn. In my
own experience, the pursuit of learning requires a high interest level in the subject
matter being taught. You may have the most exciting subject on earth. However, if it
is presented in an ineffective ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think when social studies are presented in a manner that gives facts, and then allows
for interpretation it is most interesting. That leads me to my beliefs on what the
purpose of public education is.
I feel that the overall purpose of public education is to help students become well
rounded, knowledgeable citizens. I also feel that public education should also be used
to encourage students to pursue higher education. As a teacher, I hope to excite
children to learn about social studies. Through my classroom, I would feel
accomplished if students learned, retained, formed opinions, and sought further
knowledge on the subject matter that I taught.
In my method of teaching I would tend to be somewhat of an existentialist. I would
tend to focus on how students learn. Since history is a large category of social
studies, I would want students to learn many things other than simply facts and dates.
I would hope to show students that history is made up of real people . I would want
to show the culture in which people lived, and relate aspects of that culture to modern
day life. When presented in that manner, I think dates and facts of history become
much more important. Through such an analysis, I think a student will personally
grow and look at history in an entirely new manner.
In disciplining my classroom, I would be fair but strict. In my experience, the
classrooms that I have in have had discipline problems

Gender Relations During The Jacobean Period
Deconstructing Gender Relations Gender in the Jacobean Period was approached
differently than gender in the 18th century. One can use the Jacobean period play
Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare and the 18th century play The Beaux
Stratagem by George Farquhar to examine gender relations during the two periods.
The plays demonstrate how women were represented in society and what societal
expectations were at the time. The way women navigated their own sexuality,
finances, and power relation s improved noticeably from the Jacobean Period to the
18th century. During the Jacobean Period women were not allowed to preform in
theatres; all of the players were men and boys (Spear 13). Because of the violent
nature of theatres women didn t attend plays as Groundlings and few could afford
to sit above in the covered seats above. The theatre was a place for corruption and
immorality and women were looked down upon during the Jacobean Period for
attending performances in playhouses around London. The theatre was a harsh
place where audience members were tightly packed in. They would hiss, shout, and
throw rotten vegetables at actors they disliked or applaud and clap for those they
approved of (Spear 14). The play Measure for Measureshows the powerlessness of
women during the Jacobean Period. The femalecharacters in the play are helpless in
determining their fates. The central female character in Measure for Measure,
Isabella, has been both idealized as an ideal woman

Benzoquinone Reasearch Lab Report
Materials and Methods:
First, a potato was removed from the refrigerator, where it had remained in order to
slow down the benzoquinone reaction. The potato was then skinned to remove parts
of the potato that were dark and could affect the spectrophotometer reading. The
skinning of the potato also damaged the cells, initiating the release of catechol from
within the cells. The potato was then placed in distilled water, a hypotonic solution, in
order to further damage the plant cells so that they would release catechol from the
cells and catecholase from the extracellular matrix. Next, the potato was chopped into
smaller chunks to facilitate blending. The potato chunks were then placed into a
blender that had been chilled in order to prevent the acceleration of the reaction. The
chunks were then blended in three ten second bursts, also to prevent prolonged use of
the blender s motor from quickening the reaction by heating the enzyme. If these
conditions were not controlled, then the reaction would accelerate too quickly, which
would directly affect the initial absorbance measurement since some benzoquinone
would already have formed. Next, the blended potato was filtered through four layers
of cheesecloth with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analyzing The Poem Strange Fruit
Strange Fruit Messages can travel through art in any form. The message hidden in
Strange Fruit started as a disturbing photograph of a lynching that was taken in
1930. Decades later, a high school teacher named Abel Meeropol decided to
transpose the feelings the photo evoked and wrote a poem that uses an eerie
metaphor to convey those feelings. Then a song was created using the poem. After it
was sung by the famous singer, Billie Holiday, the world heard the message that
started with a simple photo. The image that the original poem was based on was a
lynchingin Marion, Indiana, of two young black men. Strange Fruitis a captivating
poem that was written by Abel Meeropoland published in 1937. This poem and song
uses literary devices and stirring language to induce strong feelings of grief and
horror in the reader.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The grotesque poem is told from the perspective of someone observing the bodies,
or fruit , hanging from the trees. Abel Meeropol wrote the poem because he was
disturbed by a photo he saw of the Marion, Indiana lynchings. The black and white
photo of two savaged bodies hanging from a tree with a crowd standing below them
posing and pointing up at the limp carcasses is a sick image that makes us question
the humanity of those who could commit such a horrendous crime and feel no
remorse. Meeropol once said the photograph haunted him for days. (Blair). The
song conveys the emotions of the original poem, and Billie Holiday expresses pain
and grief in her rendition. When Holiday decided to sing Strange Fruit, the song
reached millions of people (Blair). If Holiday had not sung this song, it is likely that
the poem would not be so well known

Crown Clown Downtown Brown Analysis
Summary
The Elementary episode, Crowned Clown, Downtown Brown begins with action
right away. There are two men chasing after a clown in the woods. They finally
lose the clown and see him dead buried under leaves. In the few minutes that the
men lost the clown he had been murdered. Around the same time detective Marcus
is waiting to meet Chantel for a date. He is sitting at a bar when a man tries to start
a fight with him. Detective Marcus later finds out that the man who started the fight
was Chantel s ex husband trying to cause problems. Holmes and Marcus investigate
in the woods when they find poison in the New York City s water well. Later the
detectives, Holmes and Watson find out a man who worked for the city and dealt

Along with the story line about crime, there will usually be a personal story line so
viewers have a chance to know the cops as characters (Class Notes, para 5). This is
best shown when the detective is meeting up for a date with his girlfriend who
ended up not being able to come. While he was waiting at the bar a guy tried to
fight him. He later finds out it was his girlfriend s ex husband trying to cause
friction between all of them. Elementary does not fit the blueprint for a typical cop
show. The public is to believe that the clown was possibly harmful or bad when all
along one of the City s public water workers was behind contaminating the water
and hiring someone to do so. While this was happening, the clown saw him.
Therefore, he got murdered. It was a line of crimes that happened but, the bad guy
does not show up till middle/towards the end of the show. This gives Elementary a
combination of multiple genre types that are similar to different types of cop shows.
Conclusion
Overall, Elementary is a show that does represent good vs. evil but, there is more
too it then just that. It s not your typical blueprint cop show. There is mystery and a

Yankee Doodle Essay
Over the course of nearly 260 years of social and political happenings and Fourth of
July celebrations, the easily malleable ditty has spawned a vast multitude of
improvised verses, which both feed and are testimony to its lasting appeal as a
veritable song of the people . However, this does create some problems. Yankee
Doodles celebrated melody is one of the very few things about the song that have
remained constant throughout its history. With a long history of continual adaptation
and evolution, its lyrical origins are more difficult to pinpoint. It is unsurprising that
there is little iron clad evidence for each aspect of a traditional song whose
composition was born of on the go, impromptu improvisation. Even the most
commonly accepted... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both Lucy Locket and the afore mentioned harvest song make it clear that only
later adaptations began to advance toward truly conveying the meaning that
Yankee Doodle did. Supposedly, the first major such adaptation that bore a clear
resemblance to Yankee Doodle as we know it, was a jibe at Oliver Cromwell .
Cromwell was, at the time, a subject ripe for satire: the politico military leader s rise
to dictatorial power in the 1600s during and after the English Civil War made him an
extremely divisive figure.
Nankee Doodle (or, Oliver Cromwell) went to town,
A riding on a pony;
Stuck a feather in his hat,
And called it macaroni.
The verse is attributed to the Cavaliers , and is said to allude to a visit that
Cromwell made to Oxford to accept their surrender during the Civil War. Except
the use of Nankee instead of Yankee and hat instead of cap , these lyrics are exactly
those of the song we know today. And thus, they beg the question of their
meanings. What or who is a Nankee Doodle? If it is Cromwell, why was he styled
as such? Perhaps most perplexingly, why did he stick a feather in his hat and invoke

Teaching Is A Important Part Of The Nursing Process
Although teaching may be done first, last, or in the middle of patient care, teaching is
a very important part of the nursing process. Teaching is important for the patient and
family to understand the importance of their care, and it allows them to make an
informed decision on the care they receive. To appropriately teach a patient we must
look at the patient s background, make a nursing diagnosis, develop behavioral
objectives, outline the teaching plan, and evaluate the teaching s effectiveness.
Patient Information
In the context of women who are planning to become pregnant ought to receive
teaching with their significant other about what they should do before pregnancy,
during pregnancy, and after pregnancy. In one specific incidence ... Show more

The learning during lecture will be passive, but the discussion will allow for
interaction of patient and nurse in which the patient can ask questions (Beagley,
2011, p. 336). Instantly a nursing diagnosis was being formed.
Nursing Diagnosis
This family s nursing diagnosis was: Deficient knowledge related to lack of
exposure and unfamiliarity with information resources as evidence by an inaccurate
statement of knowledge (Ackley and Ladwig, 2014, p 504).
Behavioral Objectives
The behavioral objectives were: The mother will explain the disease process. The
mother will describe the rationale for treatment options. The mother will incorporate
knowledge of health regimen into a decision on having the Measles, Mumps, and
Rubella vaccine (Ackley et al. 2014).
Outline of teaching content
Mothers need to know it is important to protect their unborn babies from unnecessary
hardships. Women who become infected with measles, mumps, or rubella (MMR)
while pregnant can cause birth defects on the developing baby. Women who plan to
become pregnant should become vaccinated from rubella in order to prevent
diseases in there developing baby, such as congenital cataracts (Sharma, Sharan,
Billson, 2006, 84). If a mother is not immune to these viruses during pregnancy, it is
recommended that she receive a vaccine after delivery of her first baby if she is
thinking about having another child. Often the family can become concerned about
effecting a

The Horrible Conditions of Women in the Nazi
Concentration...
There are people out there that go through the most horrible things in life some
people might have broken a leg permanently, others might have lost someone
extremely close to them, but these women have been put through the worse things
possible. Some of these women have been separated from their families drug off,
beating, and even murdered. They don t chose this kind of violence like some
people chose to take that jump off of a bridge and break their leg permanently or
chose to take that turn and lose their life right around the corner.

When you have been taking away from everything you know you are going to try
your best to listen so you don t end up getting in trouble but in the concentration

The prisoner s meals

C. Lisciotto and C. Webb stated that (The people in the camps were fed meals three
times a day. They were fed morning, noon, and evening. In the morning the prisoners
received only a half liter of black coffee or tea. These liquids were mostly
unsweetened. The noon meal consisted of one portion of soup measuring about three
quarters of a liter, with an average of 350 400 calories. The soup was bad tasting and
watery, with a flavor less meat, four times a week and the rest with vegetables. For
supper the prisoners were given close to 300 grams of stale bread and something
extra in the shape of about 25 grams of sausage or butter, or a spoonful of expired
jelly or old cheese. The food value of the evening meal came to 900 1000
