Case scenario A 35 years old male who presented with fever and painful , swollen area on his scalp. The patient reported that he intially had a small cut on his scalp after a minor injury , while working in his garden. Over the past week , the area became increasingly swollen, red , and tender. He also developed fever and felt generally unwell. On examination, the residents observe: erythrema and swelling over the right parietal region of the scalp. Pus exuding from a central point of the swollen area Tenderness on palpation

Osteomylitis Viral or bacterial infection spreads via emissory veins Occlusion of local blood vessels, which causes bone necrosis and local spread of infection.
Black eyes(ecchymosis) An infection or pus can enter the eyelids Because of the loose nature of the subcutaneous tissue within the eyelids Inflammation may result in an accumulation of fluid, causing the eyelids to swell Ecchymosis develop as a result of extra vasation of blood into the subcutaneous tissue and skin of the eyelids and surrounding regions
