2. Why is knowing the scope and limitations of homoeopathic drugs important ? Only the proper knowledge of the scope and limitations of homoeopathy helps one decide in which case it can be applied and in which it cannot be. The most confident prescription is possible only by this knowledge

3. SCOPE OF HOMOEOPATHIC MATERIA MEDICA 1 ) The greatest scope of homoeopathic materia medica is that we get wide range of symptoms when proving the drugs, so it is easy to find a similimum for the symptoms of the patient 3

4. 4 We can prescribe the drug for various diseases even before the diagnosis is made if the symptoms of the patient is similar to the symptom of the disease Eg ; Syphilinum is not only indicated for syphilis or pre- syphilitic states but it can be given for any disease where we get symptoms of the dynamic pathology of syphilinum . More over, syphilinum can be used for cancer, diabetes, anaemia, epilepsy, eczema etc… if the symptoms agree.

No proving records are available on pathological changes in homoeopathic materia medica There is many subjective symptoms but very few objective symptoms . No proving records on lower animals are present There is no pathological level study as the symptological study in materia medica Voluminous work is difficult to remember The prescribed medicine alone is not sufficient cure unless the proper diet and regimen as prescribed

12. 12 The selected medicine may not work if the remedy is not administered in proper dose and potency, and this knowledge is acquired only through the organon of medicine alone Not universally applicable in all diseases. 14. 14 There are no specific medicines in homoeopathy for infectious diseases like parasitical, bacterial, fungal, and viral diseases For cases with vague or lack of symptoms homoeopathy has less help to offer Acute poisoning cases of either animal or chemical origin cannot be neutarlized by the homoeopathic medicine alone as it falls out of scope of homoeopathy Physical trauma, accidents, shock etc….cannot be successfully treated with homoeopathic medicine

15. 15 Diseases where the exciting or maintaining causes are constantly operating , or cannot be removed or controlled , cannot be treated with the medicines in homoeopathic materia medica Diseases of rapid pathology and rapid termination the outcome of the treatment is not predicted as the research of homoeopathic medicine is very limited Eg ; Tetanus, Malignancies No book in materia medica has everything . Every author express every drug in a different manner. Even the modalities of the same drug varies from book to book making the students confused
