INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

1. METAL INSTRUMENTS- “ GONGS “

A. GANGSA TOPPAYA gongs played by striking with the palm while rested on the lap.

B. GANGSA PALOOK gongs strike/beaten with mallets while held by the left hand.( Men )

1. BAMBOO INSTRUMENTS- “ WOODWIND AND PERCUSSION“

A. TONGALI/ KALELENG A nose flute made of bamboo that is played with the nostril.

B. TONGATONG A bamboo percussion instrument that is played by stomping each tube against the ground .

c.BUNGKAKA / BILBIL (Bamboo buzzer) played by striking against the open palm of one hand and believed to drive away evil spirits.

D . ULIBAO (Bamboo Jews Harp) it is played with a flexible tongue fixed at one end to a surrounding frame.

E . DIWDIW-AS ( Bamboo panpipe) A bamboo panpipe usually with 5 nodes of different length. It is played by blowing across the open holes.

F. PATTETEG (Bamboo xylophone) It is made up of bamboo segments mounted individually and played by one person or group.

G . SAGGEYPO A bamboo panpipe that is played by blowing directly against the top.

H . SULIBAO a conical drum played by the Ibaloi people of the Philippines topped with pi or lizard skin. It is played by striking the drumhead with the hand.
