Introduction Background of the study A comprehensive literature review suggests that self-esteem seems to be contingent on being satisfied in various domains of life and vice versa especially during the age of being adults for both males and females. Statement of the problem The study aims to identify and examine correlational relationship between the self-esteem and life satisfaction of adults. Specifically, the study seeks to answer the following questions. 1. What is the self-esteem and life satisfaction of the respondents according to profile? 2. Is there a significant relationship in the levels of self-esteem and life satisfaction among our respondents who are adults?
NULL HYPOTHESIS
Methodology The respondents was chosen selectively according to demographic profile and was given the standardized questionnaire on google form. The respondents answered the questionnaire and the data was tabulized by the researchers. On the basis of the respondents’ outcome, we interpreted the results. We have a total of 460 responses. Design of the study We have used descriptive comparative correlational type of research design with adults as respondents. Scales and authors This Research Will Use Two Survey Questionnaires. In First Part, we used Rosenberg self-esteem scale (Self_Measures_for_Self-Esteem_ROSENBERG_SELF-ESTEEM.pdf) to measure the self-esteem levels of our participants. In The second part we used SATISFACTION-Satisfaction With Life survey (The Satisfaction with Life Scale. Journal of Personality Assessment) for measuring the satisfaction levels.

CONCLUSION From results it can be concluded that female respondents have higher self-esteem as compared to male respondents. According to the age groups, the highest mean in self-esteem is of age group 26-28 years and according to education levels, the highest mean in self-esteem is of Graduate (M.A/Ph.D.) respondents. But results show that self-esteem is not significantly different on the basis of either of the demographics. From results it can be concluded that female respondents have higher life satisfaction as compared to male respondents. According to the age groups, the highest mean in life satisfaction is of age group 26-28 years and according to education levels, the highest mean in life satisfaction is of Graduate (M.A/Ph.D.) respondents. But results show that life satisfaction significantly differs on the basis of either of the demographics.
We have successfully concluded that there is no significant difference on self-esteem of respondents when grouped according to their gender, age and education level. But we see a significant difference in life satisfaction when it is grouped according to gender and education level whereas there is no significant difference on life satisfaction when it is grouped according to age. We have successfully concluded that there is a significant relationship between self-esteem and life satisfaction of the respondents. A positive correlation was seen between self-esteem and life satisfaction which infers that if self-esteem of an adult is high, so will be the life satisfaction and vice-versa
RECOMMENDATION We can start focusing on improving an individual’s self-esteem and life satisfaction can play a great role in improving their physical, mental as well as social well-being and it can also improve their relationships with other people. We can select factors which can influence self-esteem and life satisfaction include upbringing, thoughts, beliefs and the people they keep around them . Adults should not be so harsh on their personal selves and should treat themselves with kindness and encouragement. It is strongly suggested to be kind firstly to oneself and let that personal kindness spread to kindness for other people.
