Self-management is the modus of applying and using one’s self characteristics in a righteous and responsible way. It is making commitments to oneself to smartly organize and properly handle the situations in and round oneself. Self –management includes qualities such as self-awareness, decision making, problem solving, efficient time management, planning, handling stressful situations, etc.

SKILLS OF SELF MANAGEMENT: Self-management plays an important role to improve all kinds of performances, be it related to academics, productivity, doing tasks on time and manage oneself to do things in the best way.

Some of self management skills Self-awareness : always take honest feedback and gather insights into your personality and work-specific proficiencies. Responsibility: own your assignments and responsibilities because it is a step towards self-development. Time management: Prioritize the task, remove unwanted obstacles. Make time schedule and follow it diligently.

STRESS: Stress is a normal, physical or mental agony that happens when someone feels threatened upset or danger whether it is real or imaginary.

STRESS MANAGEMENT: The ultimate goal is to strike a balance between home, personal life, work, relationships, relaxation and fun. Always follow ABC Aware: be aware of the advertises or stressful events, so that you know what is causing stress. Beliefs: trust the way you handle and deal a situation. Consequences : know the outcomes of the vents and use stress management tools to overcome or minimize them.

WORK INDEPENDENTLY : Ability to work independently means working without any support, interference or supervision.

If you can become a calm and relaxed person, you will be able to work independently which means: Ability to become self-aware, self-monitoring and self-correcting Knowing what you need to do and setting priority of tasks Taking initiatives yourself before told what to do Owning your tasks an recognizing your mistakes Having the ability and will to learn continuously

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE: Emotional intelligence means the ability to identify and manage one’s own emotions as well as the emotions of others.

Emotional Intelligence includes three skills : Emotional awareness: ability to identify and mention one’s own emotions Harnessing emotions: ability to harness and apply emotions to tasks like thinking and problem solving Managing emotions: it is the ability to regulate one’s own emotions and also helping others to do the same.

STEPS TO MANAGE EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE ARE AS FOLLOWS : Understand your emotions: observe your behavior pattern and list down the things you need to work on. Rationalize: do not take decision abruptly but sort our problems and be rational in your thinking. Practice: do meditation, yoga and exercise to keep yourself calm.

SELF AWARENESS

Self-awareness is the knowledge of knowing about oneself . It denotes better understanding of ourselves and it enables us to experience ourselves as unique and separate individuals. Self-awareness is about being honest with one.

Self-awareness is mainly of two types : Internal self-awareness: it represents how clearly we see our own values, passions, aspirations and reactions including thoughts, feelings, behaviors, strengths, weakness and their impact on others. External self-awareness: understanding how other people judge us in terms of values, passions, thoughts, behaviors, strengths and weakness.

KNOWING YOURSELF: understanding who you are, your likes and dislikes, beliefs, values and opinions can only help in measuring your strengths and weaknesses.

Finding strengths Following are the ways you can find your strengths: Think of anything that makes your successful most of the times. Think about what others like and appreciate in you. Take our time and analyze about what you do well

Finding weaknesses : Figure out the areas where your struggle and the things you find difficult to do Look at the feedback and accept your weaknesses. It will improve your ability to work calmly. Identify how different and better we can be from others Think where, how and why do others perform better than me?
