IN BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE Pr. Asap Singh Seven Cardinal Rules In Life
1. MAKE PEACE WITH YOUR PAST So it won’t disturb your Future Don’t Emphasis the Past so much it will either discourage you or allow you to boast of your abilities.
Past is what is Passed… Philippians 3:13 “One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.” Ecc . 7:10, “Don't long for "the good old days." This is not wise.”
2. WHAT OTHERS THINK OF YOU IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS . It’s how much you value yourself and how important you think you are. There will be people always to criticize you when you focus on that you loose your ability
Think Positive - Why ? 1. Prov 23:7, “For as he thinks in his heart, So is he.” 2. Ps 139:14 “I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made”
3. TIME HEALS ALMOST EVERYTHING “Give time. Pain will be less hurting. Scars make us who we are; they explain our life and why we are the way we are. They challenge us and force us to be stronger.”
Don’t be hurry in any of your decisions – Give Time for Recovery “Fool Decides in Urgency” Psalm 119: 71 “It is good for me that I was afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes.”
4. NO ONE IS THE REASON FOR YOUR HAPPINESS EXCEPT YOU. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Happiness and Joy comes out of you, when you are worth of it.
Pro. 12: 14 “A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words.” Pro. 18: 20 “With the fruit of a man's mouth his stomach will be satisfied; He will be satisfied with the product of his lips.”
5. DON’T COMPARE YOUR LIFE WITH OTHERS Y ou have no idea what their journey is all about. Comparison is the thief of our Joy. Comparison either brings Pride or Discouragement
Luke 18:9-14 : “The Parable of Jesus” 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people —robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ Galatians 6:4 "Let everyone be sure to do his very best, for then he will have the personal satisfaction of work done well and won’t need to compare himself with someone else .”
6. STOP THINKING TOO MUCH It’s alright not to know all the answers. Sometime there is no answer, not going to be any answer, never has been an answer. That’s the answer! Just accept it, move on. More thinking brings more Worry
Matthew 6:25-34 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Luke 10:41-42 41“Martha, Martha, the Lord replied, “you are worried and upset about many things . 42But only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, and it will not be taken away from her.”
7. SMILE IN ALL SITUATIONS Y ou don’t own all the problems in the world. A smile can brighten the darkest day and make life more beautiful. It is a potential curve to turn a life around and set everything straight.
Romans 5:3-5 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
