(Promise for Healthy Environment) KK ENVIRONMENT SOLUTIONS 10 KLD SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT AT GOVERNMENT COLLEGE OF KARAD, MAHARASTRA (PREFABRICATED TYPE) Present by Nirmal Kumar
SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT Sewage treatment is the process of removing contaminants from wastewater generated from various source- Hospital, Schools, College, Hotels etc. Physical, chemical, and biological processes are used to remove contaminants and produce treated wastewater (or treated effluent) that is safe enough for release into the environment. A by-product of sewage treatment is a semi-solid waste or slurry, called sewage sludge. The sludge has to undergo further treatment before being suitable for disposal or application to land. To make wastewater acceptable for reuse or for returning to the environment, the concentration of contaminants must be reduced to a safe level, usually a standard set by the Environment Agency.
Sewage treatment generally involves three stages: Sewage Treatment Stages Sewage generate from Hospitals, Hotels and their treatment meth od
Sewage Treatment Process: 1. Preliminary Treatment: Its main objective is the removal of coarse solids and other large materials often found in raw wastewater. 2. Primary Treatment: The main purpose of this treatment is to reduce any heavy solids (organic & inorganic) that settle to the bottom by sedimentation while oil, grease & lighter solids float to the surface by skimming. 3. Secondary Treatment: The prime objective is the further treatment of the effluent from primary treatment to remove dissolved and suspended biological matter. 4. Tertiary Treatment: The removal of those wastewater constituents which cannot be removed in secondary treatment. Treated wastewater is sometimes disinfected chemically or physically (for example, by lagoons and microfiltration) prior its discharge into the receiving environment (sea, river, lake, wet lands, ground, etc.)

Benefits of STP and ETP: To preserve natural environment against pollution To meet the standards for emission of pollutants set by the Government & avoid heavy penalty Protection and maintenance of the environment Prevention of disease and Spread of disease Remove the all organic impurities make water reusable Reduce Water Bills Do not pollute surface Water Preserve marine life
