A Guide For The Beginner
Shuffle Cats is set in the 1920s across the rooftops of London,
with a cast of feline characters who are competitive street
cats. They vie to win their way to the best card clubs in town
and progress along Lucky Lane.

The Characters
These competitive cats have set up casino based locations known as the Lucky Lane, where
players will pay their entry fee, and face off against other opponents.

In the world of Shuffle Cats, we play a card game known on the
streets as Regal Rummy. It’s an intense game that’s easy to pick up
but takes a lot of practice to master. This is how we play the game.
Each player is dealt 7 cards and the rest of the cards are placed face
down on the edge of the game board. The first player picks up a card
from the draw stock and tries to create a meld which is a set or a run.
When you finish your turn, you will place one of your cards on the
discard stock. Each player must start their turn by picking up a card
either from the draw or discard stocks and will then end their turn by
placing a card on the discard stock!

How do I play?
•Select a card from the stock or discard pile to begin a turn.
•Select cards to create
•Select the game board to play a Set or Run. You can play multiple Sets or Runs during your turn.
•Select one card and tap the discard pile to end your turn.
0r a Run (e.g. 3 or more
cards in the same suit but
in sequence)
a Set (three or four cards of
the same rank or number (e.g.
4 aces or 3 tens)

How do I score a point?
At the start of your turn you must take one card, either from the discard pile (face up) or
the stock pile (face down). Look to see if you can make a set or a run. If you can make
one, tap on the cards and then drag them onto the board to play them. This is called
"melding". Each time you play a card, you’ll score 1 point. The first player to fill the score
bar wins the match. It’s usually first to 10 points. You can also add cards to a set or run
that's already on the board. If there are three queens, you can add one more queen to
get a point. Whether you have melded cards or not, you must end your turn by sending
one of your cards to the discard pile. If you melded cards, you'll receive the same
number of cards back, from the stock pile. You'll get one point for each card you meld in
your turn. The first player to rack up 10 points wins.
You can do multiple melds in one turn. You can lay down a set, and then
add one card to an existing run. Don't end your turn until you're
absolutely sure you've done all you want to do. Don't lay cards just
because you can. You might be able to get one point by adding a card to
an existing set -but that same card could be used in a run of your own.

Chat packs provide lighthearted interaction with other players, using a fun range of exciting themes. Unlock new packs in
Bob’s Shop, and then select them using the in-game speech bubble icon.
What are Chat packs?

Every time you win a game, you will gain XP. You get XP
regardless of whether you win or lose, so make sure you play as
many games as possible! The higher the stakes of a game the
more XP you will gain. You’ll notice your level indicator, fill this
out with the required XP and you will go up in Rank. Rank’s allow
you to unlock special abilities known as Lucky Charms!
To rank up faster, you will need to earn XP which can be won
from playing a match -the higher the entry fee, the larger the XP
reward. Bonus XP can also be won from playing large melds, or
even being the first player to score!
Is there any way to Rank Up faster?

There are a few places you’ll need Gems:
•Entry into each match, the larger the entry fee, the larger the prize
•Swapping your hand at the start of the match
•Entry into Walter's Workshop
•Purchasing some items in Bob’s Shop
What are Gems for?
In order to play games you will need to pay the required amount of Gems.
As you make your way down Lucky Lane, the Gem amount required to play
will increase, but so will the amount of Gems you can potentially gain when
you win. If you lose a game you will lose the Gems used to buy in to the
game, so try not to lose…
Every 4 hours you can claim 550 free gems. You can also play Hearts or
Spades and potentially win more Gems or you can exchange Gold Bars
from in-game shop to get more.

What are lucky charms?
Kings and Queens: Play a King or Queen card to score double points! This regal charm will give you an extra point
for each King or Queen you place on the board. So if you meld a set of 3 kings you’ll get 6 points, 2 for every king!
Freeze Card: Play a Freeze card to freeze one of your opponent’s cards! This means that they can’t play that
card until it thaws. They won’t be able to discard it either.
As you progress through the game, you will unlock various Lucky Charms that give you special powers and are available from
Bob’s Shop. They are level-locked power-ups that add to your strategy. The first one that you will unlock and use many times
is the Queens & Kings charm which gives double points for playing these cards. When holding a Queens & Kings charm, you
should always try to pick up any dropped Queens or Kings from your opponent, as long as they are not completely useless. If
you have something that could, at least in theory, help you create a set, pick up that card instead as it’s worth double points.
Also, try to only dump into the discard pile a Queen or King as a last resort because your opponent may have the Lucky Charm
and you do not want to help them get more points easily!

High Melder: You will only be able to use it if your Rank is 20 or higher. It will
help make you score BONUS points for melds of 4 or more!
Zap Card: Play a Zap card to take a point off your opponent. When you play a zap card as part of a meld, it
will remove a point. The more Zap Cards you play the more points will be removed from your opponent.
Extra Card: Play with an extra card until your 1st Meld. Give yourself some extra flexibility and
greater chances to meld with this Lucky Charm. You’ll be given an extra card until your first meld!

What are the different ways to play?
The Street:There are only 13 levels on this street and as soon as you clear
them you will be heading to Lucky Lane! But before you do, on The Street is
where you will earn your stripes and get your practice. Each game you play
requires a certain amount of Gems to enter. On the street it will be fairly low,
but that also means low rewards! There are only 13 levels on the street and as
soon as beat these levels you’re in the big time, Lucky Lane! On levels 11, 12
and 13, at the end of the Street, you will face Walter, the street champion, who
will teach you some new tricks to prepare you for Lucky Lane.

This where the real game starts. The best players from all around the world are on Lucky Lane,
strutting their stuff and slinging Gems around like it’s going out of style! It consists of the most
exclusive Card Clubs! Similar to The Street, each one of these Card Clubs requires different
amounts of Gems to enter and play a game. The stakes are a lot higher here and so are the amount
of Gems required to play. The rewards will also be higher! Welcome to the big time.
Lucky Lane
As you progress down the lane, the gems
required to buy into the game will
increase. Some Card Clubs may even
require Gold Bars as a buy-in. Most
likely you will have to play multiple
games in order to get enough gems to get
to more exclusive Card Clubs.
Remember the goal here is to beat
Walter! From here on, there are no
levels.

Walter’s Workshop is within Lucky Lane. He is
always tinkering away in his workshop! You can
be a part of his crazy experiments by entering his
workshop. Most weekends, Walter switches up
the rules of Regal Rummy, creating a unique
challenge for even the most hardened player! If
you win multiple games in a row, it will net you
prizes. To get the top prize you have to win a
maximum of 7 games in a row.
Walter’s Workshop

Now instead of having level numbers, you will be given choices as to which arena you would like to play. Since I am fairly
new to the game, I am not sure if these challenges remain or change over a period of time.

Every day you can get one free turn on Walter’s Hearts or
Spades game! All that you have to do is guess whether the
card is going to be a heart or a spade by dragging the face
down card either left or right. If you are correct, your
reward will grow, but if you get it wrong you will lose one
of your three lives. If you lose three lives, you will walk
away with a consolation prize. After your free turn is over,
you can play again by using Gold Bars.
