9. Present Tenses There are 2 ways (2 verb tenses) to talk about the present in English: Simple present Present progressive (or present continuous) 9

Simple Present – Uses With non action verbs (verbs with no movement): a) state : be, seem, appear, exist b) possession : have, own, possess c) feelings & needs : like, love, hate, feel, want, need, wish d) thought : thin k, believe, know, imagine, understand e) the senses : see, hear, taste, smell **Non action verbs don’t make the present progressive 10

23. Present Progressive - Uses 2. To talk about future planned events or intentions: Sam is leaving in the morning. After lunch, I am going shopping. 23
