Purpose for site hoarding
Definition
Is the temporary erection of close-boarded
around the site when alterations to existing
buildings are carried out or where new work
is to be developed involving site excavation
etc.
TYPES OFSITE HOARDING
These include:-
•Boarded hoarding
•Plywood hoarding
•Hoarding with signboards
•Hoarding 3.600 metres high used for site and advertising
•Hoarding used with scaffold on pavement.
SAFETY HEALTH ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
FOR SITE HOARDING
•Must be closed boarded.
•Must be installed with warning light at night
preferably red colour.
•Must be provided with foot walks 1.200 metres wide
and handrail securely fixed and maintain in good
condition.
•Must have at least a height of 1.800 to 2.100 metres
and sometimes higher where are used as advertising
stations.
PURPOSES FOR SITE HOARDING
i.Protection of building materials and also the general
public to ensure their safety at all time due to noises
and dust associated.
ii.It’s also used as means of advertisement usually
special provision is made for displaying posters and
painted signs on framed sign boards.
iii.Control the arrival and departure time for the workers.
