Six Steps to Spiritual Restoration
Part #1

See the Need for Restoration
•Even the “men of God” needed restoration:
–David needed restoration (2 Samuel 11, 12; Acts
13.22)
–Remember Peter?

What is Restoration?
•Restoration is the act of repairing, renewing or
rebuilding.
•Renewal is the bringing back something back to the
unspotted, original state of newness.
•A revival is bringing back to life the spiritual life in an
individual or among a group of people.

Why Do You Need Restored?
•Sin began in the garden (Genesis 2.16ff)
•Our iniquities separate us. (Isaiah 59.1,2)
•Sin is a disease that kills. (Romans 3.23)
•Who caused the separation?

How Were You Infected?
•One is infected when they refuse to follow the guidelines.
(1 John 3.4)
•One is infected when they choose to go against what is
right. (James 4.17; 1 John 5.17)

How Were You Infected?
•One is infected when they do not know about the
guidelines. (Psalm 119.11)
•One is infected when they forget the guidelines.
(Revelation 2.1-7)

Where is the Cure?
•The cure is Christ. (John 3.16)
–Christ died for your sins. (1 Corinthians 15.3)
–He became your offering for sin. (Isaiah 53.10)
–Through our obedience to Christ, He has purged our
sins. (Hebrews 1.3)
–The blood of Christ is the cleansing power to wash
away our sins. (1 John 1.7; Acts 22.16)

A Knowledge of the Cure?
•The knowledge of a cure should result in healing.
–Many know they have the disease; they know of the
cure and refuse to be healed.
–Remember Felix? (Acts 24.22-25)
–Remember Agrippa? (Acts 26.24-28)
•Knowledge of the cure without action is useless.

The Need for Restoration
•The first step in the road to spiritual restoration is to see
the need for spiritual restoration.
•Realize you need restored.
•Know the cure.
•Go to the cure.
