About This Presentation

radiographic techniques of imaging soft tissues

Slide Content

SOFT TISSUE RADIOGRAPHY WADP DARSHANA RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST-SRI LANKA

What are soft tissues? Tissues other than bones

Why we need special techniques to demonstrate soft tissues? Differential attenuation is less in soft tissues. So the subject contrast is less in soft tissues.

Difference densities according to differential attenuations

How to change the contrast of radiographic image? By Changing Kvp By adding filters

Use of normal Kvp Air and Fat are low dense and give blackish appearance than other tissues if we use normal kvp .

Enalarged adenoid is seen in nomal neck exposures ??????????????

Knee effusions seen in normal Kvp

lipohaemoathrosis

Soft tissue swelling

Normal & abnormal kagers fat pad

Sub normal kvp in mammo

Skull normal exposure vs soft tissue exposure………. use profile projections( tangenital )

Low kv

High kv

Need of high kv in Ba enema

Use of filters filters

Digital technology

Conventional vs digital mammo

To demonstrate soft tissues successfully; special attention must be given to; -Radiographic contrast -Image sharpness -Avoidance of artifacts
