IN T RO DUCTION A solar water heater is a device which provides hot water for bathing, washing, cleaning, etc using solar energy. It is generally Installed at the terrace or where sunlight is available and heats water at day time which is stored in an insulated storage tank for use when required including morning .
SOLAR WATER HEATER
Problem Faced by electric water heater Less safety. High cost of production and maintenance. Need of large amount of electrical energy.
Objectives of solar water heater Minimize more energy consumption. Letting us to save energy. More safe.
WORKING A solar water heater carries an array of solar collector to collect solar energy and an insulated tank to store hot water. Both are connected to each other. During day time, water in solar collector gets heated which is either pumped or flown automatically on thermosyphon principle to the storage tank. Hot water then stored in the tank can be used for various applications.
ADVANTAGES Simple to construct and install. No or negligible running cost. Almost maintenance free. Cost is low and economically competitive with electric water heating system. It saves time and large amount of electrical energy. Required low temperature up to 100°C can be achieved by simple flat plate collector.
Fuel saving No need of any external energies like electric energy. Only need Solar energy
CONCLUSION More efficient then that of electrical water heater Pollution free. Cheaper cost as compare to other heating system. Keep the environment clean.
