ABSTRACT Now a days the modern technologies are helpful in all aspects of our life. Due to this lots of development done in the field of agricultural. The solar energy converted into electrical energy by photo voltaic cells and energy stored in batteries to run water pump during day time. Th is project is designed to operate the water pump at four different time slots. It prevents the difficulties of switching the pump ON / OFF manuall y. Real time clock interfaced to Arduino then Arduino give command to the corresponding relay Driver circuit to ON/OFF the pump. A matrix keypad helps to entering different time slots,RTC which keeps tracking the time and date. LCD is interfaced to Arduino, to display status of the pump.

INTRODUCTION A solar power pumping system are being used for developing country instead of other forms of energy because they are extremely durable and have economic benefits. Solar powered water pumping systems can be the most appropriate solution, where the levels of solar radiation are extremely high. Solar powered water pumping systems provide basic needs of public like provide drinking water and water for agriculture etc. It reduces need for any kind of fuel or maintenance.

LITERATURE SURVEY This project deals with a controlled charging mechanism with protections for over charge, deep discharge and under voltage of the battery. RTC provides monitering and maintaining date and time. LCD is connected to microcontroller to display the status of the pump. When set time is equal to real time then microcontroller gives command to the driver circuit to turn ON\OFF the pump.

WORKING OPERATION This project provides the facility of automatic switch off after the requ ir ed time duration. This is achieved by using the Microcontroller. RTC provides monitering and maintaining date and time. Matrix keypad helps to entering the four different time slots to run the water pump. LCD is connected to the microcontroller to display the status of the pump. When set time is equal to real time then Arduino gives command to relay driver circuit to ON/OFF the pump.

MODULE DESCRIPTION ARDUINO: It is a 8051 microcontroller contains 28 pins that can be programmed and use to control the circuits. RTC:It is used to monitoring time and maintaining the calender. LCD:It gives the information about the status of the pump.i,e.,It shows the pump is in ON/OFF state. MATRIX KEYPAD:It helps to set four different time slots to run the water pump for our requirements. BATTERY:It stores the electrical energy produced by photovolatic cells.

ARDUINO UNO Arduino UNO is a 8051 micro controller. It has 28 pins:14 Digital,6 Analog,3 Ground pins,1Reference,1Reset,1input pin3.3V,1.15V. It controls the output depending on the input.

RTC(Real Time Clock) It is a DS1307 serial real time clock. The clock provides information about seconds,minutes,hours,day,date, month,year . RTC provides time which is converted into digital signal using an IC and fed into microcontroller.

LCD( LIQUID-CRYSTAL DISPLAY It is a16*2 LCD display This display has room to display 16 columns of characters on 2 rows. LCD is connected to the arduino to display the status of the pump.

DC MOTOR WATER PUMP DC motors offer the advantage of variable speed control,allows pumps flow rate to be adjusted based on water demand. This flexibility helps optimize water usage and energy efficiency.

MATRIX KEYPAD A matrix keypad helps entering different time slots. It provides a user-friendly interface for setting up the desired operating schedule. Versatility:The keypad can be programmed to accommodate different time intervals or schedules.

STEPS TO SET FOUR DIFFERENT TIME SLOTS: FIRST :Press the reset button and it shows the time operated irrigation motor. In the keypad Matrix first button shows the hour,minutes and also used for increment and second button used for the decrement. After setting the hours, double click the last button in the keypad,it indicates the minutes, again set the minutes using first button then double click the last button to set the slots. And continue the same process for remaining slots. Motor gets ON when set time is equal to real time. Motor gets OFF when set time is not equal to real time.

SLOTS OPERTAION LOT 1:Set time is 22:8:0 SLOT 2: Set time for slot 2 is 22:10:0 SLOT 3: Set time for slot 3 is 22:12:0 SLOT 4 :Set time for slot 4 is 22:14:0

RESULT It allows time based scheduling,power saving,customizable time slots and optimal utilization of solar power.

OUTPUT

CONCLUSION The whole system can be run with solar energy . This project can be decrease the man power . Environment friendly.

F U TURE SCOPE T he user can control the motor pump from a remote location using his mobile phone. T he user can also get the water level indication of the reservoir and overhead storage tank on his mobil e .
