SELECTION PROCEDURE IN SSC SSC CGL selection process 2024 includes  three stages – Tier 1, Tier 2, and Document Verification (DV) .  Both the tiers are computer-based exams  Participating in all stages is important for you.  The minimum qualifying marks in Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams are as follows - UR: 30%, OBC/ EWS: 25% and others: 20%. SSC CGL  Tier 1 exam is compulsory for everyone in order to qualify for Tier 2.  SSC CGL Tier 2 exam will be considered for merit. The Commission has revised the SSC CGL Exam Pattern and Selection Process. Prior to the year 2021 SSC CGL had 4 tiers in the selection process. In the year 2018 screenshots of SSC CGL 2017 Tier 2 paper were leaked on the internet. Which led to protests and compelled authorities to cancel the exam. Because of this the Tier 2 exam was cancelled and result was declared in 2021. This incident led the authorities to change the selection process as it is now

SELECTION PROESS IN 2024 SSC CGL 2024 selection process comprises mainly two stages. The SSC CGL Exam is conducted in two stages: Tier 1 and Tier 2. You must clear all the stages to qualify for the particular post of SSC CGL. You will have to clear Tier 1 to appear for the Tier 2 exam . Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination Tier-II: Computer-Based Examination Tier-II will include conducting of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III in separate shift(s)/ day(s). Paper-I is compulsory for all the posts. Paper-II is only for those candidates who have applied for the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) post in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and qualified for the Tier-I exam. Paper-I will be conducted in two sessions – Session–I & Session II, on the same day. Session-I will include conducting Section-I, Section-II and Module-I of Section-III. Session II will include conducting Module II of Section-III. Therefore, the duration of Session-I will be 2 hours and 15 minutes and the duration of Session-II will be 15 minutes only

. A. General Intelligence & Reasoning : It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. B. General Awareness : Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline

C. Numerical Aptitute : The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be the computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions and relationships between numbers. It will test sense of order among numbers, ability to translate from one name to another, sense or order of magnitude, estimation or prediction of the outcome of computation, selection of an appropriate operation for the solution of real life problems and knowledge of alternative computation procedures to find answers. The questions would also be based on arithmetical concepts and relationship between numbers and not on complicated arithmetical computation (The standard of the questions will be of 10+2 level). D. English Comprehension : Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested. 3 Tier-I will be used to screen the candidates for appearing in Tier-II for various papers which will be specifically required for different groups of posts. However, marks of such screened candidates in Tier-I will be taken into account for final ranking of candidates for selecting them for the interview and also final selection.
