Who are Stakeholders?
Thestakeholdersinemergencyriskmanagementarethose
individualsororganisationsthatmaycontributeto,beaffected
byorbeinvolvedintheplanning,responseorrecoveryfroman
emergencysituation[1].

INVOLVEMENT OF MUTI-STAKEHOLDERS IN
DISASTER MANAGEMENT
➢TheYokohamaStrategy(1994)integrationoftheprivatesectorindisasterreductionefforts
throughpromotionofbusinessopportunities.
➢HighPowerCommittee(1999)advocatedsettingupofsystemwhereprivatesectorefforts
couldbeintegratedwithnationalefforts.
➢TheHyogoFramework(2005-2015)advocatedcorporaterolesinreducingdisasterrisksof
communities.Itintroducedroleofmulti-stakeholdersinDMprocess.
➢TheSendaiFramework(2015-2030)recognizesthattheStatehastheprimaryroletoreduce
disasterriskbutthatresponsibilityshouldbesharedwithotherstakeholdersincludinglocal
government&privatesector[2].
