Sydney George St Campus.
INTRODUCTION AND FAMILY BACKGROUND:
I am Mohan Krishna Sharma, a permanent resident of ward no.11 Kohalpur Banke, Nepal, holding passport number
0213350. I am a 20-year-old passionate and devoted student willing to follow a Bachelor of Information Technology in
Australia for the February intake. With the courage and support of my family, I have picked to pursue a Bachelor of
Information Technology degree( Software development) in Australia. My family consists of 2 members including me,
my mother Balika Sharma , my father Madan mohan Sharma and he is no more in this world.
My family has always been an inspiration to me since they have always supported me in all of my decisions. My family is
financially stable, and they have been financially and emotionally supportive towards me since I stepped into this world.
My mother is a Manager at Sana Kisan Sahakari Kohalpur while my mother is also a housemaker.
I am positive that my mom and my uncle will provide me with equal financial and moral support with the aim of assisting
me to meet my objectives. Through this SOP, I intend to put forward my personal and educational background, my goals,
and my reasons for choosing Australia and the ATMC College branch of the Federation University of Australia.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Regarding my academic background, I have always been a bright student. I completed my Secondary Education
Examination in 2019 by securing a 3.25 GPA from one of the reputed school in our district known as Takshashila Academy
Banke School, Banke. After that, I completed my Higher Secondary Level Education (+2) from Golden Gate International

started to prepare for PTE and attended the PTE Test on the 17
th

application program. I secured an overall score of 53
in PTE with the following individual scores: Reading- 51, Listening- 53, Speaking- 56, and Writing-50.
Reasons for choosing Nepal.
There are some colleges in Nepal but
The top companies look for highly skilled professionals, which is quite a tough thing after receiving an education here in
Nepal itself. Receiving an education from ATMC Sydney George St Campus would best prepare me to work as a top-level
professional in the leading and innovating IT companies of Nepal. Furthermore, Student political activities can be found in
every field in Nepal, including educational institutions like as mahendra multiple campus and patan multiple campus
etc.One of the many reasons I chose overseas education is that I want to study in a pleasant environment that is devoid of
student politics and only focused on offering quality education to students.

In Nepal, vocational and technical programs are very rare programs. Despite that there are lacks of resources, qualified
teacher and exams are not held according to the annual schedule. As teachers of Nepal lack skills of technology then they
research less and their teaching affects the students. It means they are not research-oriented and they happen to produce
same sort of candidates. There are some evidences of my statement :
https://kathmandupost.com/columns/2021/02/28/political-interference-at-tribhuvan-university above mentioned real
education status of Nepal made me think to pursue my higher study from Australia, If I am given permission to get enrolled
I will be an expert in my subject and it will help me in my career back to my country. In Nepal, there is a unique practice

that is one needs to take care of the properties including land, house and other material assets after their parents. So I ensure
that I cannot stay any loner after the completion of my theoretical and practical knowledge in Australia.
WHY SYDNEY?

Sydney is already one of the most multicultural cities in the world. English is the official language, however around 250
languages are spoken here, due to the wide range of people that have settled here from around the world. This means that
you won’t feel out of place, having English as a second language. Sydney is recognized as Australia's only truly global city
and the leading knowledge-based economy.
Reason for choosing Australia
When I decided to study abroad, I didn’t have enough knowledge of international education. So I made
some research about abroad study and I came to know about Australia. Surfing on the internet and going
through much more counseling I became sure of studying in Australia. Because of the impressive
international reputation of the Australian education system, graduates from Australian schools are in high
demand. The government carefully regulates this system in order to maintain the countries high educational
standards. Australia is currently the third most popular English-speaking destination for international
students, trailing only the United States and the United Kingdom. Because of the cultural diversity, friendly
natives, and high quality of education, many international students choose to study there. Australian
educational institution provide a wide variety of courses and degrees making it simple for international
students to select the college and industry that best suits them. If required, students can quickly change
from one certification level to the next and from one school to another. One of Australia’s most powerful
characteristics for international students is the focus on the quality of education. Australia is a leader in
financial development.

WHY AUSTRALIAN TECHNICAL AND MANAGEMENT COLLEGE ?

Firstly I came to know about ATMC Sydney George St Campus in July 2022. Among the various universities and colleges
in Sydney, I was more interested in this college because of its affordable fee structures, fulfillment of the requirements, a
good amount of scholarships, and offers range of courses. It was approved as a Higher Education Provider and tuition cost
at this college is quite affordable than other universities and colleges. Moreover, This college offers up to 25 percent
scholarships for international students if the requirements are met. After the scholarship, the annual fee comes down to
around 19000 AUD only. Similarly, while going through the website, I found the laboratories and other infrastructures to be
more updated and maintained at their best. The learning session, lectures, and conferences from highly recognized and
qualified faculties fascinated me more to join the ATMC Sydney George St Campus.
Besides this college, I researched UNSW Business School which offers a 3 years duration course in Bachelor of
Information technology which is delivered face to-face within the college. The tuition fee cost of 43000 AUD (per year).
The following are the main reasons that I want to study at this Institute.
● College has a small classroom size that helps tutors to establish a personal and individual connection with students
and guide them according to their learning capacity.
● The college has well-experienced teachers with real-world experiences that have gained industry-relevant exposure
which helps them to guide students properly.
● College innovative tech-assisted course delivery with a well-equipped classroom.
● College not only focuses on providing theoretical knowledge but also practical skills which make students work-
ready when they graduate.

WHY BACHELOR OF INFORMATION Technology (Software Development)?

The Bachelor of Information Technology is a three-year course, which is delivered over six trimesters on a full-time basis.
To meet the requirements for graduation, all students must complete 24 units of the courses.
The Bachelor of Information Technology degree provides students with a solid foundation in essential Information
Technology units across the core body of knowledge as specified by the Australian Computer Society.
Additionally, the program incorporates important core business units of study to provide the students with the skills they
will need to operate as effective IT professionals in the business environment. The flexibility of the degree also allows
students to choose from a variety of business or further IT-related electives. The graduates of this program will acquire
skills and knowledge which are in high demand by organizations in the technology-driven workplace.
Not limited to the above information pursuing a Bachelor of Information Technology have various benefits
1. Synthesize knowledge and skills in one or more IS disciplines such as database design, systems analysis, business
modeling, and so on.
2. Encourage a collaborative teamwork culture.
3. Critical thinking and clear judgment in identifying problems and opportunities.
4. Enhance their knowledge based through life-long learning.
5. Effective project team membership.
GAP EXPlANATION
During this gap period, Learning some stuff like the diploma of the application program for around 9 months form the period of 1
January to 29 September. After that explore the beauty of our country, by trekking ABC(Annapurna base camp) and
Machhapuchchhre base camp. At the same time, I also realized the importance of foreign degrees in my future career.

So, I decided to go for further study and started to prepare for the PTE academic exam to fulfill the required
qualification of English proficiency to pursue my further study at a top institute like ATMC.

My future plan; my ties to homeland

As soon as I graduate, I am happy to return to my motherland Nepal and give a good start in the respective field
usage my learnings and skills in the top IT companies of Nepal such as Verisk Nepal, Deerwalk Inc, Cloud
Factory, and so on. Besides this, I will also work on expanding the business which my uncle has been currently
incorporating in Nepal. I strongly believe that the degree and experience of international exposure will enable me
to repay my parent's struggles and contribution to making me a successful person. I am applying to Australia with
the sole purpose of gaining enough knowledge and experience in my academic field.
IT leads me to reach up to my destination which I have made and get a lot of practical knowledge so that I can
perfectly implement my knowledge into effect. Choosing IT as my course of study will also help me to catch my
dream careers after getting an IT degree. I can employ myself in the potential field like: application programmer,
computer programmer, chief information officer, secretary analysis and system analysis. I can also join the
government as an IT programmer and for that purpose I would need relevant experiences from reputed IT
companies like WorldLink,(https://worldlink.com.np/) Deerwalk
Inc(https://www.google.com/search?q=logpoint%20nepal&tbm), LogPoint Nepal, etc.

In a long run with my expertise and experience , I have a dream of establishing my own IT company quite
innovatively.

understanding into our traditional and developing industry. These are various multinational and national companies
that are very welcoming to international graduates like us with a comfortable and reasonable starting salary of Nrs

80k equivalent to 919.54 AUD as an entry package increasingly along with growing experiences up to NPr 400k

Information Systems in Nepal is only possible after I return back to my homeland.
After the demise of my father ,my mother has been a pillar of my family and I have never felt the absence of my
father because of love and care towards me .For me she is a source of inspiration who always encouraged me to
follow my dreams and provided me with everything I need to success. As a only son in the family I want to do

something ,repay her love , support and care in any way I can along with her aging for which I must return to
Nepal.
Apart from that my culture wont let me stay in Australia for a long to takeover my ancestral family property since I
am the only son to look after my family .Thus, I want to re-assure high commission that I have a strong desire to
complete my graduation in Australia and return back to Nepal with thereafter .
