A brief introduction of the Statue of Unity.
All about Iron Man statue and Indian culture.

2. The  Statue of Unity  is the world's tallest statue with the height of 182 meters . It is located on a river island named Sadhu Bet  facing the  Sardar Sarovar Dam  on river Narmada in the state of  Gujarat, India . The Statue of Unity is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel . It was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on 31 Oct 2018 .

Why Statue of Unity Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ,   the first  Deputy Prime Minister of India, the Iron man of India, was responsible for the unification  of 552 princely states  to made one United India . 31 October 1875 (Gujrat) He worked hard to made our India one United Nation . He connected all the 552 princely states into one United India. That’s why India is known in the world for “Unity In Diversity”

5. About This Project The project was first announced in 2010 by Mr. Narendra Modi (CM of Gujrat) and the construction of statue started in October 2013 by  Larsen & Toubro , who received the contract for ₹2,989 crore  (US$420 million). It was designed by Indian sculptor  Ram V. Sutar and inaugurated by Narendra Modi on 31 October 2018 , the 143rd anniversary of Patel's birth. The iron used to construct this statue, was collected from the farmer of 5 lacks of villages as a donation (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rastriya Ekta Trust) .
