A consonant is produced with the tongue contacting the upper alveolar bridge Lingua-alveolar

Manner STOP Place (the same position) lingua-alveolar voiceless voiced /t/ /d/ no voice from the throat. When the tongue moves away from the ridge behind the teeth, there is an explosion voice from the throat. No explosion Vocal cords vibrate The consonant sounds /t/ - /d/
