This is the Headline Slide Structure & Design Guide – Consulting Presentation Framework This is the Bumper. FlevyPro presentations follow the standard Headline-Body-Bumper Consulting Presentation Framework that global consulting firms utilize to structure their slides. Per the Headline-Body-Bumper framework, every slide has 3 primary components. Headline Body Bumper The “Headline” is a sentence that appears at the top of the slide, introducing the slide. The “Body” is the main section of the slide. On the top-left, there is the “Title” of the slide. Under that, there is some overview text, which can optionally be included. The “Bumper” is in a rectangle box along the bottom of the slide.  It adds further insight into the slide and answers the "so what?" question.  The bumper is optional, though recommended. If you follow these guidelines, then you can quickly and seamlessly integrate slides into any FlevyPro PowerPoint presentation. Likewise, you can also combine slides from disparate FlevyPro presentations. We also like to add “trackers” (see top-right of this slide). This helps the audience keep track of the content relative to the primary framework in the presentation. This is a Tracker. This is the body. This is the Title.

Follow these guidelines when writing the Headline Slide Structure & Design Guide – Headline The Headlines of each slide should connect and tell a cohesive story—this story is often formulated using Minto’s Pyramid. This slide provides details on the specific formatting guidelines that all FlevyPro presentations follow for constructing Headlines. Headline Body Bumper Font styling: Arial Narrow, 24 pt , boldfaced. You do not need to use our suggested font style. However, what is critical is that whatever styling you choose, it must remain consistent across all your slides. Two lines max—if you exceed 2 lines, then reword or cut down on content. One sentence only. If you need two sentences, you can combine them using an em dash (i.e. --). No ending punctuation (e.g. period).

Follow these guidelines when creating the Body Slide Structure & Design Guide – Body For more information on designing diagrams and the usage of charts in the Body, take a look at these Chart Design frameworks: https://flevy.com/pro/library/tag/presentation-design Headline Body Bumper Font styling: Arial Don’t go smaller than font size 10. Otherwise, it becomes too difficult to read. Place the source on the bottom left of the slide in font size 10. E.g. “Source: Article Name, Harvard Business Review, 2015” Title guidelines Font styling: Arial, 16 pt , boldfaced, italic. Just the typical title (e.g. “Executive Summary,” “Approach,” “Objectives,” etc.). Describes the body of the slide. Overview guidelines Font styling: Arial, 13 pt (flexible, but keep consistent across slides), boldfaced. Write 1-2 sentences. Source: Example Source, Harvard Business Review, 2015 This slide provides details on the specific formatting guidelines that all FlevyPro presentations follow for Body text.

Follow these guidelines when writing the Bumper Slide Structure & Design Guide – Bumper If you can’t think of any Bumper text to put, ask yourself if this entire slide is actually needed. Headline Body Bumper Font styling: Arial, 14 pt , boldfaced, italic. Two lines max—if you exceed 2 lines, then reword or cut down on content. One sentence only. If you need two sentences, you can combine them using an em dash (i.e. --). Do use ending punctuation (e.g. period). This slide provides details on the specific formatting guidelines that all FlevyPro presentations follow for constructing Bumpers.
