▸Explicit stressors center on the solving of a particular problem in
a work environment and are usually considered ‘eustress,’ in that
it is profession-focused

WHAT IS THIS PROGRAM?
▸This is a hospital - specific program
directed at all caregivers, from
maintenance staff to MDs.
▸When a Bad Outcome or traumatic
scenario occurs, the staff involved
may be experiencing significant
stress.
▸The goal is a rapid response by an
equivalent colleague to help
determine the level of stress incurred,
and offer support to the staff member

HOW DOES IT WORK?
▸Ideally, the practitioner involved notifies the Caring for
Caregiver (‘Wellness rep’) as soon as they are able
▸If another care team member (RN, surgeon etc) is
particularly concerned about the case, they can call the
service, who then alerts the Wellness rep.
▸We talk. Or text, but whichever is most convenient
▸I can also offer you resources to seek further assistance.

WHAT ARE THE LIMITATIONS?
▸Muir offers a vast array of resources
- to its employees only
▸One of the facets of the program is
to get the practitioner out of the
clinical environment to recoup.
