About This Presentation

How subcooling and superheating helps to increase COP of refrigerator

Slide Content

S ubcooling and s uperheating in refrigeration By Raghavender Juluri

S ubcooling Subcooling is cooling the refrigerant in liquid state, at uniform pressure, to a temperature that is less than the saturation temperature

A dvantages of subcooling Subcooling occurs in condenser helps in keeping the refrigerant in liquid form It will increase the efficiency of the cycle

Effect of liquid subcooling

S uperheating It is a process of increasing evaporator temperature so that the vapour will be entering into the compressor Effect of suction vapour superheat

D isadvantages of superheating It increases the work of compressor resulting the increase of power supply There will be increase in specific volume resulting decrease in capacity.
