Steam Turbine Types
1-Straight Condensing turbines which allow
steam to expand to the lowest possible
pressure before it is condensed into water.
2-Back-pressure and topping turbines in
which steam is exhausted before it is fully
expanded. Generally, provide low pressure
steam for heating or process.
3-Extraction turbine in which steam is
extracted (controlled or uncontrolled)
during the expansion process for use in
othe application such as district heating.
