INTRODUCTION Poverty has become a large issues around the world. It is something that many of us know about but we’re not realizing just how big of a problem it is. This work will in include basic information about poverty, the effects, facts and statistics which can make people aware and want to help reduce poverty.

WHAT IS A CURRENT SITUATION OF POVERTY IN THE WORLD? People living in extreme poverty dropped by more than half between 1990 and 2015 from 1.9 billion to 836 million. About 736 million people still live on less than US$1.90 a day. Women are more likely to live in poverty than men due to unequal paid work opportunities, education and poverty.

Poverty among workers is more common among young people aged 15-24 About 16%of workers in this aged group live below the poverty line, earning less than $1.90 a day, while the 9% of adults are in the same situation The sub- Sharan Africa region concentrates more people living in extreme poverty than the rest of the world. Most of the worlds poor live in rural area (80%), are under the age of 14(44% ),have no formal education and (39%) are employed in agriculture (65%), the said report. 22,000 children die each day due to poverty related causes.
