Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY) in India is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme which came into effect on 1 December 1997.

1. Swarnajayanthi Shahari Rojgar Yojana
(SJSRY)
Objective :To provide gainful employment to the urban
poor below urban poverty line( as defined by Planning
Commission), unemployed or under -employed

including women groups.

Area of implementation: All towns and cities in India.
Bank to provide loans under:

1. Urban Self-Employment Progarmme(USEP)

2.Urban Women Self-Help progarmme (UWSP) -group
of Min.5member No upper ceiling on members.

2. Swarnajayanthi Shahari Rojgar Yojana
(SJSRY)

Eligibility conditions:

1. Should be below Urban Poverty Line and
unemployed.

2. Should be resident of the town for last 3 years
3.No min. of Max. education qualification

4. Age: above 18 years. No upper age limit

5. Loan to be released only after attending training.
6.Defaulters to Bank/Fis are not eligible under the
scheme.
