Project Goal: To leverage financial resources and strategic planning to address the policy barriers hindering the frictionless access to self-injecting DMPA-SC and to unlock tangible opportunities by capacity building of health care providers and officials, increasing power for procurement and transportation of DMPA-SC to far flung areas of Sindh through allocation proper funds.

Assumptions: Government authorities are open to evidence-based policy changes. And are willing to consider and act upon the project's recommendations for allocating funds for DMPA-SC. Key stakeholders, including NGOs, healthcare providers, community leaders, and civil society organizations, are supportive of the initiative and will actively engage in advocacy efforts. There will be access to reliable and up-to-date data and research on the benefits of DMPA-SC, its cost-effectiveness, and its potential impact on maternal and child health. Effective media campaigns can influence public opinion and policy makers.  

Input:

Activities: Research and Data collection through consultants and Budget Advocacy Group Stakeholder Engagement Clear Messaging Formulate a comprehensive advocacy strategy that includes specific policy asks related to DMPA funding. Budget Analysis: Develop Charter of demand and Partnerships and Alliances:  Social media Advocacy Interface meetings:  Signing  on pledge form to increase budget for DMPA-SC Training, procurement, Transportation and awareness building through media

Out Put: Increased awareness: Policymakers, health authorities, and the public are aware of the benefits of DMPA-SC. Supportive policy environment: Stakeholders express interest in integrating DMPA-SC into family planning programs. Budget allocation discussions: Government officials consider allocating funds for the procurement and distribution of DMPA-SC contraceptives.

Outcomes: Policy change:     The provincial government includes DMPA-SC in its family planning program and policies. Increased access:   Health facilities offer DMPA-SC as part of their contraceptive options. Higher usage of DMPA-SC: Women and couples increasingly choose DMPA-SC as their preferred contraceptive method. Improved health outcomes: Lower rates of unintended pregnancies, reduced maternal and infant mortality, and improved reproductive health indicators.

Impact: Increased availability and usage of DMPA-SC, which will contribute to improve maternal and child health in Sindh. Improved family planning services lead to a decline in unintended pregnancies, unsafe abortions, and resulting in fewer maternal and infant deaths. Access to DPMA-SC will make informed women in seeking choices for family planning.
