WHY UPGRADE

This is a minor version that does not require immediate
attention.
However, it is recommended that all systems are as
current as possible to proactively support your SEP
environment.

Windows users now have support to the Microsoft
Outlook scanner for Microsoft Outlook 2016
Added support for MSSQL Server 2012 SP3
WHAT’S GOING

The SEP 12.1.x product is the last to support:
SEP Manager migration from 11.x or 12.0
Importing an 11.x client package
Downloading and hosting of definitions and other content for
11.x
vShield-enabled Shared Insight Cache (vSIC) and Security
Virtual Appliance
Installation of SEP on:
•Windows 2003 Server
•Windows XP
•Any versions of Windows Embedded that are based on Windows
XP, (e.g. Windows Embedded Standard 2009)
•MSSQL 2005 for the SEPM database
Options for Unsupported Items

vSIC to be no longer supported
Should you still need to support and protect vSIC in your environment, you
can utilize Symantec Data Center Security Agentless AV.
Unsupported Operating Systems
Should you still need to support and protect end of lifed operating systems,
you can utilize Symantec Data Center Security or Symantec Critical
Systems Protection for those devices.
WHAT’S FIXED

After an upgrade to 12.1.6 MP5,
SNAC clients are quarantined by
LAN Enforcer.
ccSvcHst crashes continuously
with bug check 0x80000003.
With SEP installed, a file’s last
access time changes with the
OnePass backup runs.
Installation of SEP for Linus 12.1.6
MP4 causes RHEL5 U11 to crash
and restart.
When logged on to SEPM through
the Web Console, exported log
content cannot display.
SepMasterService stops and
definitions do not update until
system is restarted.
Replication fails with Invalid Hex

Clients do not download other
content monikers when they do
not accept full.zip files.
The virus definition date
becomes “Unavailable” on
SEPM console after the reboot
of the SEP client machine.
Offline clients are counted
towards Scan Failures on
Home Page
