1. Characters

a. Characterization
 Achilles – He is the greatest warrior who was cursed to kill. He is the leader of
the Myrmidons.
 Hector – The prince of Troy, son of Priam. He is the leader of Trojan forces. He
is a responsible prince and a devoted husband and father.
 Paris - The prince of Troy, younger son of Priam. He is also a lover of Helen. He
was the one who brought Helen of Sparta to his home.
 Helen – The wife of Menelaus who ran away to Troy with Paris
 Agamemnon – The king of Mycenae, brother of Menelaus. The commander-in-
chief of the war against Troy. He commands all Greek forces.
 Menelaus – King of Sparta and brother of Agamemnon, the husband of Helen
 Priam – The king of Troy, father of Hector and Paris. He is very old and can no
longer command his army. He is a noble and good king.
 Odysseus – The brave warrior and king of Ithaca. He was the one who built the
Trojan horse which made them enter Trot and destroy it.
 Briseis – The beloved cousin of Hector and Paris. A servant of Apollo. She is
also the lover of Achilles
 Andromache – The wife of Hector and the princess of Troy.
 Patroclus – The cousin and companion of Achilles
 Eudorus – The captain of the Myrmidons. He is the loyal companion of Achilles.

b. Psychological setting
 Love – almost all of the characters were in this state. Love for a person, love for
their country, love for the gods, and love for their honor.
 Rage – some of the characters were angry because they have been betrayed or
they have also lost their loved one. Rage is one their revenge.
 Desire – some of the characters have desired to destroy the land of Troy

3. c. Mode of the movie
The mode of the movie is love and war. The movie Troy is all about the Trojan war.
The war had sparked because of the love between Paris of Troy and Helen of Sparta.

3. Plot
King Agamemnon and his soldiers were in Thesally making agreement with the
Thesannian king and his soldiers. So the two kings agreed to let both if their best
fighters to fight instead of war. Boagrius fought for Thesally while Achilles fought in favor
of King Agamemnon`s bidding. In the end, Achilles struck Boagrius with his sword in his
neck which made Boagrius fell into the ground.
It was a fine day at Sparta, Greece when the two Trojan princes made peace with
the King Menelaus. Amidst the celebration, the younger prince followed Helen of Sparta
to her room. The two were in love with each other as Helen would describe that she was
like a ghost before the prince came. The prince is willing to stay with her, or else, bring
her to his place which is to Troy.
The morning came when it is time for the Trojan princes set sail towards their land.
Upon their journey, Paris had shown Hector that he brought with him Helen of Sparta
which is a chaos for the two kingdoms.
When they arrive at Troy, the people welcomed them and so with King Priam who
welcomed Helen as if she were the princess of Troy. Prince Hector embraced his wife
and his little boy.
On the other side, King Menelaus turned to ask for help on his brother, King
Agamemnon who also wanted to destroy Troy agreed and sent emissaries to all the
Greek kings and their soldiers. Later, there were thousand of ships and 50,000 men
who joined the expedition against Troy, including Odysseus, Achilles and the
Myrmidons.
As they reached the shores of Troy, the Trojans attacked them with their arrows
causing few of the Greek soldiers to die. Achilles even attacked the temple of Apollo,
the sun god and he cut the head of the patron`s statue. By night, the dead warriors were
burned on the pyre.
As the sun has rised, the two enemies stood before the walls of Troy to witness
Paris and Menelaus fight. But amidst the fight, Paris was strucked and wont be able to
fight anymore. On the other hand, king Agamemnon had plotted to destroy Troy and he
is willing to do it, he does not even care if king Menelaus`s mission is only to win back
Helen. When Paris was strucked in his legs, he immediatly reached out for his brother
and surrendered. King Menelaus approached to finish Paris but Hector killed him first
and strucked him right in his chest causing him to fall down. This marked the beginning
of the battle. Even though the Greeks outnumbered the Trojans, still the people of Troy
have won the fisrt battle for they have the skilled archers who killed thousands of Greek
armies.

4. The Greek warriors now seemed hopeless. So king Agamemnon and Odysseus
planned to have Achilles on their back. But Achilles has so pride that he would only fight
for himself. He does not care if the Greeks would suffer. On the other hand, prince
Hector would do everything, and would even fight for his country.
The night came, Hector and king Priam decided to attak the Greeks and the
Myrmidons. By this time, the Greek soldiers regained strength for they thought that
Achilles has lead them. But they never knew that it was Patroclus who disguised as
Achilles. In the end, Hector killed Patroclus.
Later, Achilles heard the news about his cousin from Eudorus. In his rage, Achilles
went before the Trojan gates and demanded Hector to fight with him. So Hector went
out of the the gates and fought bravely with the greatest warrior of Greece. Hector fell
down and died. Achilles stringed the prince`s feet on his chariot and brought Hector as if
he had a victory over Troy.
Later at night, king Priam went to Achilles and asked for his son`s dead body for he
wanted to give the proper burial for Prince Hector.
After twelve days, the Trojans thought that the Greeks have returned home and
have lost the battle. They did not know that the Greeks and their ships were hiding. The
Greeks left a giant Trojan horse built by Odysseus as an offer to Poseidon for their safe
journey. They brought the Trojan horse inside the city. The Trojans never knew that
Odysseus and the Greeks were inside the horse. When everything was in peace, the
Greeks started to attack the Trojans. They killed everyone including the innocents. They
burned the houses and enslaved the women. The Troy has began to fall. King Priam
was killed by king Agamemnon. Later, Agamemnon died as he was strucked by Brisies
in his neck. Then Achilles was pricked with arrows by prince Paris. Helen, Andromache,
Paris, and some Trojans managed to escape through a passage through Mount Ida.
Here ends the epic story of heroes whose name will be remembered for thousands of
years.
4. Conflict
The problem in the story is when Helen ran away from Sparta to be with prince Paris
on their way home to Troy. Helen is the wife of king Menalaus and by this time, the king
have gone to his brother, king Agamemnon to ask for help. He wanted to take back
Helen so he could kill her with his own hands. King Agamemnon seemed to have favor
with his brother, he made allies with the other Greek kings and their soldiers to start a
war against Troy. He wanted to destroy the country so he lead the expedition with
thousands of ships carrying about 50,000 Greek warriors.
5. Climax
The climax of the story aroused when king Odysseus have finally entered the city of
Troy through the Trojan horse which is supposed to be an offering to Poseidon. When
they have entered the Trojan walls, they killed all the Trojans they have seen including
the innocents and king Priam. Amidst the chaos, Achilles was seen hugging Briseis.
Prince Paris pricked him with his arrows until the greatest warrior have finally fell down.
Achilles died during the Trojan war.
6. Resolution or denoument

5. After Achilles died, Helen, Andromache, Paris, and other Trojans have managed to
escape troy through a secret passage to Mount Ida. In their new place, they begin anew
of their lives.

II. Summary
The Trojan princes were on their way home when prince Hector found out that
Paris brought Helen of Sparta with them. Paris was so in love that he will do anything to
be with Helen. This was the start of chaos as king Menelaus teamed up with his brother
to go war against the Trojans. King Agamemnon sent emissaries to all the Greek kings
and soldiers. They traveled the seas until they reached the shores of Troy.
As they reached the beach, the archers killed some Greek warriors with their
arrows. King Menelaus fought against prince Paris. But king Agamemnon cannot accept
the defeat of his brother. This led to war. As expected, more warriors have died. It was
long after prince Hector died from his battle against Achilles, king Odysseus built a huge
horse made of wall. The Greeks went inside the horse. Since it was said that the Trojan
horse was made as an offering to Poseidon for the safe trip of the Greeks, the Trojans
never knew that the enemies havent returned home yet. King Priam brought the horse
inside Troy. By night, the Greeks came out and destroyed the city of Troy. They killed
the women and the innocents, including king Priam. Achilles was killed by Paris. Few
Trojans have managed to escape Troy through a secret passage and there they began
anew.

III.
1. What does the movie teach me?
The movie taught me how the warriors had chosen to fight for their land instead of
staying with their families. It taught me that we aren`t sure if the gods are with us, if it is
our fate to die, we will eventually die since we are just mortals. It also taught me how
Paris loved Helen that he is willing to do anything just to be with her. When you love a
person, you would risk anything for the both of you to live happily. The same reason for
Achilles who found out that his cousin, Patroclus have died. With his rage, he went to
Troy. Outside the gates, he fought with Hector who killed his cousin and in the end,
Hector died.
2. To whom will I recommend the movie?
I will recommend the movie to everyone. It is a movie that we should watch
especially because it is from the famous epic of Homer. They can learn so much about
love, hatred, family, courage, and for the love of their country and also with their loyalty
to the gods.
3. If I would like to end the story, what would it be?
If I would like to end the story, I would make the Troy still unconquered because I
dont like women and children, and other innocents to suffer just because the Greeks
want to conquer the land. Troy is a great country and I want prince Hector and Paris to

6. take full responsibility of their land and people. I want the Trojans to defeat the Greeks
in the end.
