Setting The setting of this book is Mission Street, San Francisco, CA. in the bad side of the neighborhood. This story took place in 1990 The area where they lived is a very bad neighborhood where houses/apartments get broken into everyday and there are always shooting. Later they moved to the good side of the neighborhood where the rich people lived with nice gardens and cars. He used to go to Franklin High school where people used to take weapons and get into fights every day and where people stole anything.
Characters The main Character is Lincoln ( main character) he is shy but once he gets confortable he gets very confident. Roy- He is a cop he is the boyfriend of Lincoln's mom he is a bad guy he always tries to take attention away from Ana to spend time with Lincoln. James- One of the basketball players in the rich school Coach Ramos- basketball coach that appreciates having linc on his team Ana (Lincoln’s mom)- she is a busy woman she takes care of lots of business and she barely spends time with her son Lincoln.
Tone The tone of this book is Confident using words that show positive outlook; sure, indeed, you can do it Dedicated using strong words about sticking with it: stay with it; keep going; don't give up.
“Quotes” “ I am tall, Flaco, ( skinny) with big brown eyes” “ I am Confident but shy just get to know me.”
Opinion of book What I thought of this book is that is VERY GOOD it was worth reading it all the intense scenes, all the drama between the characters all the betraying between best friends and family. The fights he got into all the things that happened in his new neighborhood and what other people were talking about in his old one. That he wouldn’t talk to them anymore because he feels like he is one of the rich kids. All the things that happened were so good once you start reading it you cant stop.
