•Tea is an aromatic beverage commonly prepared
by pouring hot or boiling water over cured leaves of
the tea plant, camellia sinensis.
•After water, Tea is the most widely consumed
beverage in the world.
•It has a cooling slightly bitter and astringent flavor
that many people enjoy.

TYPES OF TEA:
WHITE TEA
It is the purest and least processed of all teas.
This loose leaf tea brings a high color and
flavor.

GREEN TEA:
It is the most popular type of tea mainly
because it is the beverage of choice in asia.
Some loose green teas are scented with
flowers or mixed with fruits to create scented
flavored teas.

OOLONG TEA:
It is also known as Wu-long tea, is full bodied
with a flavorful fragrance and sweet aroma.
Most people commonly recognize oolong tea
as a Chinese tea served in Chinese restaurant

BLACK TEA:
It is a tea most people know since u likely grow
up dipping tea bags of black tea in ur cup (or
enjoyed this tea from an iced tea picture in the
south

Tannin is an astringent bitter plant Polly
phenolic compound that binds to and
precipitate proteins and various other organic
compounds including amino acid and
alkaloids.
Tannins are defensive compounds that
contract bacteria and fungi by interfering with
their surface proteins.
Tannins are naturally occurring and common
and are an important component of red wine.

health
Tannins are likewise known to have anti
oxidant properties which can help prevent
cellular damage and therefore may protect
against heart diseases.

Bad effects of Tannin on human
health
Food rich in tannins are considered to
be of low nutritional value. Tannin can
interfere with absorption of iron. This can
possibly lead to other types of elements.
Tannin can also impede the body ability
to absorb iron which can advisedly affect
balance diet

1.Berries: Most barriers such as cranberries,
strawberries and blueberries contains both
hydrolysable & condensed tannin.
2.Chocolate: Chocolate liquor contains about
6% tannin
3.Nuts : Nuts such as hazelnut & walnut
contains high amount of tannin.
