This building is designed by one of the

personsperhectare.TheTarapaysdeeply
attentiontotheinneractivitieswhichareal-
mosthappeninthecentralgardenandleave
theinteractionoftrafficbehindawallwhichis
paralleltoGuruRavidasMargStreet(the
South-East).

❖Description:TheprojectislocatedalongGuru
RavidasMargStreetwhichleadstotwobig
residentialareasintheNorthandtheSouth.It
isinthesuburbofmiddle-class.Therefore,it
createsaharmoniousandbal-ancevolume
withtheexistingfabricduetolimitedheight
andtheformofthebuilding.Morethanthat,
theprojectalsoplaysanim-portantpartin
linkingtheseotherbuildingswiththeadjacent
park.
❖Evaluation:Thebuildingturnsitsbackonthe
streettopreventnoise,dustfromthehigh
flowvehicles.Beingstakedasarow,central
garden,bigoverhangsandsharpedges,all
givethesebuildingsasenseofIn-dian
characteristicunderhotsun,fulloflight
withoutsufferingfromhightemperature.

separatingwiththeoutsideworldandprovidingan
interiorgarden,thebuild-ingpreserveswellthe
privatelifeoffamilieswithin.Morethanthat,just
pedestriansareallowedgoinsidethehous-ing
groupandtheparkinglotisinthebackofthebuild-
ing.
❖Intermofasocialhousinggroup,theprojecttakes
bigadvantagesfromnaturalresourceslikelighting
andventi-lationandallfamiliesareequallyshared
thesefeatures.

❖Description:Theduplexunitsareaccessedeitherat
groundfloororsecondfloorlevelsbyoutdoorstair
cases.Therearetwokindsofflat:thetwo-bedroom
flatswith84squaremetres(3metreswide,6metres
highwithtwofloorsand15metreslong,thethree-
bedroomflatswith130squareme-tresandhavethe
shapeofL,therearejustonly16three-bedroomflats
werebuilt.Eachunitispro-videdanopenterrace
whichisprotectedbyaper-golaandbigoverhangs.
Twosidesoftheprojectareconnectedbystaircases.
❖Evaluation:Theconceptofbuildingallowspeopleto
accessdirectlytotheinteriorgarden.Morethan
that,everyonealsohastheirownopen-to-sky
terraceswithfullfilledshadow.Bytaking
advantagesofsun,winddirectionsandopenspaces,
hencelightingaccessandventila-tiontoeach
dwellingaremaximized.

❖Description:Thedwellingsaregroupedinto
somesmallandmediumblocks.Someblocks
areassembledonlybytwo-bedroomflat,some
arecombinedbetweentwo-bedroomtypeand
three-bedroomtype.Itcreatesthediversityof
formbutstillmaintainsthelogicofdwellings‟
functions.
❖However,therearejust16three-bedroomflats
sothatitisnotsufficientforfamilieswhich
❖havemorethan4members.

thecombinationbetweenpairs
ofaccommodationunits.
❖Thesecondfloorwhichislarger
thanthegroundonewithabig

proximately6metresgivesthe
mixturebetweenshadowand
light.Morethanthat,theduplex
aboveisalsopushbackhence
