Action Taken Report (ATR) on recommendations given by experts during last Review (skip in case of first review) Recommendations given by experts Follow up actions taken The instrumentation to be completed by December, 2021. The instrumentation (machines) work was completed and installed in project site. The Secretariat along with one or two experts Field visit in February, 2022 to assess the actual progress. Technical Experts from BIT visited project site. Project to be completed by 31st March 2022 and accordingly the activities to be planned. 1.Installation of Machineries and solar panel was completed 2.Community shed was completed 3.Cultivation of Plant on going 4.Training of Tribal beneficiaries is planned by July onwards. Income enhancement before and after interventions to be given. After the training to the beneficiaries. Weaving of clothes and crafts using nettle yarn will be promoted and encouraged.
Action Taken Report (ATR) on recommendations given by experts during last Review (skip in case of first review) Recommendations given by experts Follow up actions taken Exit Plan and sustainability aspects to be submitted. The project will be sustainable once the technology is developed and validated since; with this new package of technology the farmers will get substantial income. The sustainability of raw materials supply will be ensured through the package of practices for cultivation of the plant and Man power will be trained for operation and maintenance of the machineries. The unit will be run by SHG and HILO will Monitor the activities. Output and outcome indicators specific to the project to be submitted Submitted in Annexure I
OBJECTIVES VIS-À-VIS ACHIEVEMENTS Objective 1: To Design and develop the technology to obtain fine fibers of the specific plant and develop machineries for its yarn and spinning . Proposed Activities Progress Till date Output** Challenges/Shortcomings Design and develop portable semi automated machines for yarn preproduction and get yarn out of the fiber Yarn production machineries installed. Biological method of nettle fiber extraction in process Technology developed Yarn production Machines are Installed at Project site Phek Nagaland. Delayed due to pandemic. Trouble shooting in biological treatment of nettle for fiber extraction, required equipments for the same not within the package of the project. Recruitment of Manpower Recruited Youth employed. Male-2, Female-1 Setting up of working shed Working Shed Completed Common Facility Created
Objective 2: To document and disseminate traditional knowledge about distribution and uses of nettle. Proposed Activities Progress Till date Output** Challenges/Shortcomings Documentation of traditional knowledge And improvement trough scientific methods will be disseminated and training of the local people thereof will Develop the capability of The local people. Improvisation of conventional method for fibre extraction in progress with scientific inputs On going Nettle fibre extraction using biological process to be optimized.
Objective 3: Value addition through utilization of the entire plant and diversification of Nettle ( Urtica Dioica ) fiber products. Proposed Activities Progress Till date Output** Challenges/Shortcomings The leaves of the plants are liked by cows /pigs and this will help the animal Husbandry based employment Leaves have been used in animal feed Increased area under nettle cultivation and more usage for animal feeds and human consumption The leaves stinks hence proper care and protective gear are required. Nettle yarn production Making bags, mats Tribal income generation
Objective 4 : Training of Naga tribal farmers on the technology package developed Proposed Activities Progress Till date Output** Challenges/Shortcomings Training of Developed technology to Field workers Completed Skill developed in using machineries The leaves stinks hence proper care and protective gear are required. Training of Tribal peoples Work in progress II phase training by June –July onwards

FUTURE ACTION PLAN ( Suggestions regarding any tweaking in present objectives or modulation of present activities as per beneficiary needs ) ( It is not compulsory and can be left out if not integrating with project area requirements ) In the future, we will plan to conduct training for tribal peoples in multiple phases using developed technologies and an easy way to extract the fiber. New textile products and cloths can be made and market all over India.
