being a teacher, he was an inventor.
He was particularly intrested in the education of deaf

The telephone was invented in 1876. Alexander
Graham Bell worked on the "Electric Speech
Machine" in his summer house in Mt. Pleasant,
Ontario. It was bought by his father Alexander
Melville Bell in 1870, Today it is known as the Bell

It enables you to have contact.
Before people had to rely mail which often took weeks, months or even a year depending on
where they lived.
When the telephone was first introduced only the very wealthy could afford them.
Eventually, the middle-class were able to have them installed in their homes.
It kept families connected . When an emergency was happening, people wouldn't have any way
of communication outside of the household.
The telephone was fairly commonplace in the 1930´s in the United States. By the end of the II
World War, most of the U.S. homes had a telephone.

PHONES
Bell’s phones were different
than the ones we use today.
We still talk with people on
the phone but smart phones
have changed the way people
communicate.
Now conversations on phones have video chats, so you
can connect to your family/friends from your phone and
see what is happening.
Smart phones have applications you can download:
Facebook, YouTube, Game, Spotify, GPS
