In1919,AdolfHitlerjoinedasmallright-winggroupcalledtheGermanWorkers'Party.
Hetookoverasitsleader,andchangeditsnametotheNationalSocialists(Nazis).The
partydevelopeda25-PointProgramwhichheexplainedfurtherinhisbook„MeinKampf‟
[MyFight]whichhewroteinjailafterthefailureoftheMunichPutsch1924.
Inthe1920s,theNazistriedtobeallthingstoallpeople.
The25-PointProgramhadpoliciesthatwere:
•Socialist
e.g.farmersshouldbegiventheirland;pensionsshouldimprove;andpublic
industriessuchaselectricityandwatershouldbeownedbythestate.
•Nationalist
allGerman-speakingpeopleshouldbeunitedinonecountry;theTreatyof
Versaillesshouldbeabolished;andthereshouldbespeciallawsforforeigners.
•Racist
JewsshouldnotbeGermancitizensandimmigrationshouldbestopped.
•Fascist
astrongcentralgovernmentandcontrolofthenewspapers.

theprimarypoliticallawoftheState.Ithasbeenmadebriefandclear
intentionally.
Alllegalpreceptsmustbeappliedinthespiritofthepartyprogram.
Sincethetakingoverofcontrol,theFührerhassucceededinthe
realizationofessentialportionsofthePartyprogramfromthe
fundamentalstothedetail.
ThePartyProgramoftheNSDAPwasproclaimedonthe24February
1920byAdolfHitleratthefirstlargePartygatheringinMunichand
sincethatdayhasremainedunaltered.Withinthenationalsocialist
philosophyissummarizedin25points.”

Point 1:
WedemandtheunificationofallGermansintheGreaterGermanyonthe
basisoftherightofself-determinationofpeoples.
SIMPLY:
The unity of all German-speaking peoples.
[Unification of Greater Germany (Austria + Germany)]
Point 2:
WedemandequalityofrightsfortheGermanpeopleinrespecttotheother
nations;abrogationofthepeacetreatiesofVersaillesandSt.Germain.
SIMPLY:
The abolition of the Treaty of Versailles.
Point 3:
Wedemandlandandterritory(colonies)forthesustenanceofourpeople,
andcolonizationforoursurpluspopulation.
SIMPLY:
Land and colonies to feed Germany‟s population.

Point 4:
Onlyamemberoftheracecanbeacitizen.
AmemberoftheracecanonlybeonewhoisofGermanblood,without
considerationofcreed.
ConsequentlynoJewcanbeamemberoftherace.
SIMPLY:
Only Germans can be citizens.No Jew can be a German citizen.

Point 5:
WhoeverhasnocitizenshipistobeabletoliveinGermanyonlyasa
guest,andmustbeundertheauthorityoflegislationforforeigners.
SIMPLY:
People in Germany who are not citizens must obey special laws for foreigners.

Point 6:
Therighttodeterminemattersconcerningadministrationandlawbelongs
onlytothecitizen.Thereforewedemandthateverypublicoffice,ofanysort
whatsoever,whetherintheReich,thecountyormunicipality,befilledonly
bycitizens.
Wecombatthecorruptingparliamentaryeconomy,office-holdingonly
accordingtopartyinclinationswithoutconsiderationofcharacterorabilities.
SIMPLY:
Only German citizens can vote, be employed or hold public office.
Point 7:
Wedemandthatthestatebechargedfirstwithprovidingtheopportunityfor
alivelihoodandwayoflifeforthecitizens.
IfitisimpossibletosustainthetotalpopulationoftheState,thenthe
membersofforeignnations(non-citizens)aretobeexpelledfromtheReich.
SIMPLY:
Citizens are entitled to a job and a decent standard of living.If this cannot
be achieved, foreigners (with no rights as citizens) should be expelled.
Point 8:
Anyfurtherimmigrationofnon-citizensistobeprevented.
Wedemandthatallnon-Germans,whohaveimmigratedtoGermanysincethe
2August1914,beforcedimmediatelytoleavetheReich.
SIMPLY:
No further immigration of non-German must be allowed.All foreigners who
have come to Germany since 1914 must be expelled.
Point 9:
Allcitizensmusthaveequalrightsandobligations.
SIMPLY:
All citizens have equal rights and duties.
Point 10:
Thefirstobligationofeverycitizenmustbetoworkbothspirituallyand
physically.
Theactivityofindividualsisnottocounteracttheinterestsofthe
universality,butmusthaveitsresultwithintheframeworkofthewholefor
thebenefitofallConsequentlywedemand.
SIMPLY:
The first duty of a citizen is to work.
Point 11:
Abolitionofunearned(workandlabour)incomes.Breakingofrent-slavery
SIMPLY:
All payments to unemployed people should end.
Point 12:
Inconsiderationofthemonstroussacrificeinpropertyandbloodthateach
wardemandsofthepeoplepersonalenrichmentthroughawarmustbe
designatedasacrimeagainstthepeople.
Thereforewedemandthetotalconfiscationofallwarprofits.
SIMPLY:
All profits made by profiteers during the war must be shared.
Point 13:
Wedemandthenationalizationofall(previous)associatedindustries(trusts).
SIMPLY:
Nationalisation of public industries.(i.e. Electricity and Water)
Point 14:
Wedemandadivisionofprofitsofallheavyindustries.
SIMPLY:
Large companies must share their profits.
Point 15:
Wedemandanexpansiononalargescaleofoldagewelfare.
SIMPLY:
Pensions must be improved.
Point 16:
Wedemandthecreationofahealthymiddleclassanditsconservation,
immediatecommunalizationofthegreatwarehousesandtheirbeingleased
atlowcosttosmallfirms,theutmostconsiderationofallsmallfirmsin
contractswiththeState,countyormunicipality.
SIMPLY:
Help for small shops and businesses; large department stores must be closed
down. (most department stores were owned by Jews)
Point 17:
We demand a land reform suitable to our needs, provision of a law for the
free expropriation of land for the purposes of public utility, abolition of taxes
on land and prevention of all speculation in land.
SIMPLY:
Property reform to give small farmers their land.
Point 18:
Wedemandstrugglewithoutconsiderationagainstthosewhoseactivityis
injurioustothegeneralinterest.
Commonnationalcriminals,usurers,Schieberandsofortharetobepunished
withdeath,withoutconsiderationofconfessionorrace.
SIMPLY:
An all-out battle against criminals, profiteers, etc., who must be punished by
death.
Point 19:
WedemandsubstitutionofaGermancommonlawinplaceoftheRomanLaw
servingamaterialisticworld-order.
SIMPLY:
Reform of the law to make it more German.
Point 20:
Thestateistoberesponsibleforafundamentalreconstructionofourwhole
nationaleducationprogram,toenableeverycapableandindustriousGerman
toobtainhighereducationandsubsequentlyintroductionintoleading
positions.
Theplansofinstructionofalleducationalinstitutionsaretoconformwiththe
experiencesofpracticallife.ThecomprehensionoftheconceptoftheState
mustbestrivenforbytheschool[Staatsbuergerkunde]asearlyasthe
beginningofunderstanding.Wedemandtheeducationattheexpenseofthe
Stateofoutstandingintellectuallygiftedchildrenofpoorparentswithout
considerationofpositionorprofession.
SIMPLY:
Improve education so that all Germans can get a job.
Point 21:
TheStateistocarefortheelevatingnationalhealthbyprotectingthemother
andchild,byoutlawingchild-labour,bytheencouragementofphysical
fitness,bymeansofthelegalestablishmentofagymnasticandsport
obligation,bytheutmostsupportofallorganizationsconcernedwiththe
physicalinstructionoftheyoung.
SIMPLY:
Improve people‟s health by making a law for people to do sport.
Point 22:
Wedemandabolitionofthemercenarytroopsandformationofanationalarmy.
SIMPLY:
Abolition of the Army, and a new People‟s Army in its place.
Point 23:
Wedemandlegaloppositiontoknownliesandtheirpromulgationthroughthe
press.InordertoenabletheprovisionofaGermanpress,wedemand,that:
a.AllwritersandemployeesofthenewspapersappearingintheGerman
languagebemembersoftherace:
b.Non-Germannewspapersberequiredtohavetheexpresspermissionofthe
Statetobepublished.TheymaynotbeprintedintheGermanlanguage:
c.Non-GermansareforbiddenbylawanyfinancialinterestinGerman
publications,oranyinfluenceonthem,andaspunishmentforviolationsthe
closingofsuchapublicationaswellastheimmediateexpulsionfromthe
Reichofthenon-Germanconcerned.
Publicationswhicharecountertothegeneralgoodaretobeforbidden.We
demandlegalprosecutionofartisticandliteraryformswhichexertadestructive
influenceonournationallife,andtheclosureoforganizationsopposingthe
abovemadedemands.
SIMPLY:
German newspapers must be free of foreign influence.
Point 24:
Wedemandfreedomofreligionforallreligiousdenominationswithinthe
statesolongastheydonotendangeritsexistenceoropposethemoralsenses
oftheGermanicrace.
ThePartyassuchadvocatesthestandpointofapositiveChristianitywithout
bindingitselfconfessionallytoanyonedenomination.ItcombatstheJewish-
materialisticspiritwithinandaroundus,andisconvincedthatalasting
recoveryofournationcanonlysucceedfromwithinontheframework:
commonutilityprecedesindividualutility.
SIMPLY:
Freedom of religion.
Point 25:
Fortheexecutionofallofthiswedemandtheformationofastrongcentral
powerintheReich.
UnlimitedauthorityofthecentralparliamentoverthewholeReichandits
organizationsingeneral.
Theformingofstateandprofessionchambersfortheexecutionofthelaws
madebytheReichwithinthevariousstatesoftheconfederation.Theleaders
ofthePartypromise,ifnecessarybysacrificingtheirownlives,tosupportby
theexecutionofthepointssetforthabovewithoutconsideration.
SIMPLY:
Strong central government with unrestricted authority.
