Do they really affect education,
productivity and social engagement???

Being a person on the move you know how important a step ahead of your
customers and your close ones. You probably know the feeling chained to your
office or home, to avoid losing important e-mail and to keep easy access to critical
data to proposals, appointments, contacts, new business or stock market..well
have no fear because the new PDA style for business and fun was designed!

Smartphone's are one of the most popular forms of
communication all over the world, they have many
advantages; first of all they are multifunctional, in addition
they are quick to communicate with, and finally they make it
very easy to stay in touch. They are Multifunctional because
they are phones and ambulant personal computers. Also they
are quick because you can communicate in seconds with
everybody, and also you can send important information and
documents in seconds in any place… They make it very easy
to stay in touch because you can write to friends easily and
start a communication with them at any moment.

Keeping you organised
Flexible working
Information at your fingertips
Never out of touch
Better information sharing
Greater functionality
Faster communication

Don't leave home without the Internet.
Browse the web from just about
anywhere. Look up an address, check out
a menu, bookmark a new favourite site
and shop - right from your smartphone.

The study found that students with the phones performed 25
percent better on the end-of-the-year algebra exam than did
students without the devices in similar classes.
First of all, with the help of internet feature that the smartphone
provides, students can have permanently access to some virtual
textbooks - because teachers thought it's less expensive to read a
freeware book or courses on internet than to pay for buying or
copying them on Xerox.
Then the teachers thought it might be helpful to have a virtual
catalog for marks and to fill there the students marks, because
students' parents don't have enough time to go on school and to
verify the kid's situation in education. So with the help of a
smartphone connected to the internet, parents may access a
database with their kids' marks and presences.

Because someone thought the courses are important anytime and not
all of use may get every time to the course. So with the help of internet,
there can be created online classes with online courses and why not
online attendance. So, if you cannot get to a course, you just use your
smartphone and connect to the course and they guarantee you an
attendance of 100%

The primary benefit is the ability to work from anywhere.
What that means practically is you're not waiting for
someone to get back to their desk to get an answer to a
question.
My computer is at work but I can run the application away
from the office.

Nielsen report that 31% of US mobile phone owners have a Smartphone as of
December 2010, and expect smart phones to become the majority by the end of
2011. eMarketer predicts that Smartphone ownership will reach 43% of the US
mobile population by 2015.
According to figures for 2010 released by Gartner, smart phones accounted for 297
million (19%) of the 1.6 billion mobile phones sold that year. That's 72.1% more
Smartphone sales than in 2009.
The same company expects US sales of smart phones to grow from 67 million in 2010
to 95 million in 2011, and become the highest-selling consumer electronic device
category.
For Q4 2010, the IDC Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker puts Smartphone
sales at 100.9 million, up some 87% over Q4 2009. They report total Smartphone
sales for 2010 as 302.6 million, up around 74% on 2009.
The Coda Research Consultancy predict global Smartphone sales of some 2.5 billion
over the 2010-2015 period, and also suggest that mobile Internet use via smart
phones will increase 50 fold by the end of that period.
Morgan Stanley Research estimates sales of smart phones will exceed those of PCs in
2012.
Gartner expect over 500 million smart phones to sell in 2012.

Research has been done by Smartphone sales statistics 2010 and analysts,
and they show that already smart phones have broken records set by
themselves and other phone company manufacterers
It has been a very good year for smart phone manufacturers. For all of
2009, they shipped and sold 174 million units which is 15% higher than
the 151 million smartphones sold in 2008. Analysts are saying that this
is very impressive considering that the world is still mired in a
financial crisis. The smart phone market, unlike the computer
industry, managed to defy the odds and set a record year of sales. The
15% increase is still hefty by industry standard. Experts agree that
2010 is going to be another lucrative year because of the release of
Verizon Nexus One (released by Google) and the upcoming updates
for Windows Mobile and Symbian mobile operating systems.

So is it worth asking today why people use smart
phones? With 5 billion users in the world already.

With these stats obtained it is pretty obvious
that smart phones are essential tools in
whether workplaces, social engagement,
productivity issues or personal use/life and
that they play a positive impact in in our
society
